Emma’s POV THE NEXT DAY Rain fell steadily that day, turning the pack house grounds muddy. I used to remember going out in the rain when I was younger, how I used to let the water drench me from head to toe and I would play and play until I was exhausted. I felt like letting the rain touch me, so I slipped out of the suite alone, drawn to the sound of it drumming on the roof. The cool drops hit my skin as I stepped onto the covered porch, then farther, into the open courtyard. I tilted my face up, letting the rain kiss my cheeks, my hair, my arms.
