Chapter 5

1204 Words
Aurora decided against sleeping in the secluded area and decided to get into a bar instead. It was better than meeting a psychopath in the middle of the night. She smiled as the thought of the handsome man she met earlier crowded her mind. If only she had gotten a little more time with him, she thought. As she walked into the dimly lit bar, her heart was pounding. She had never been to a place like this before, but she knew that she needed to get away from her stifling home and everything that comes with it. She scanned the room nervously, looking for a place to sit and gather her thoughts. That was when she saw him again. He was sitting at the bar, his back hunched over a shot glass, his face etched with pain. She couldn’t help but be drawn to him; she had never seen anyone look so lost and alone. She took a deep breath and made her way over to him. “Is this seat taken?” she asked, gesturing to the empty stool next to him. He looked up at her, his eyes bleary and bloodshot. “No”, he said, his voice heavy with the weight of his own sadness. They sat in silence for a moment both lost in their own thoughts. She ordered some shots of bloody Mary and told the bar man to put it on his tab. The man looked at her like she was crazy. “Do you always go about getting drinks on stranger’s tabs?” he asked Aurora gulped down one shot first hand and peered at him. “Strangers? Oh, then let us introduce ourselves, and then we wouldn’t be strangers anymore. Hello, I’m Aurora”. She said, extending her hand. He looked at her like she had lost her mind and completely ignored her outstretched hand. Aurora scrunched her nose and brought down her hand. “What a rude brat. So arrogant”, she murmured “Did you just call me arrogant?” “Are you not?” Aurora retorted. “I just introduced myself and you could not even be so polite to acknowledge the greeting. If that is not arrogant then tell me what is. Behaving like you own the world and everything in it” I, Ivan Frederick, can buy you and your entire generation if I so wish. Do not test my patience, lady” “Well, calling out your name wasn’t as hard as you made it seem, right? Ivan?” He scowled at her, willing her to get off his hair as soon as possible, but Aurora had other plans obviously. “So you can buy my entire generation, right? Are you that wealthy?” Aurora asked, wide eyed like a child. “Take your drink and leave me alone. You already fixed yourself a drink. The least you can do is let me have some peace and quiet. You are so noisy. You’ll make me have a headache” “You don’t have to be so grumpy about it. Do you think you can buy me off? Just me without my generations? I think that I am a very beautiful woman. I’m sure that your parents will approve” Aurora said, batting her lashes at him “Ha! Now I’ve really confirmed that you are a sick woman. What kind of woman walks up to a man and asks him to buy her? Are you a slave for sale?” Ivan replied with a frown on his face Aurora took another good look at the man speaking to her. Maybe it was the alcohol, but she could swear that this man is the hottest man in the whole world. He was brawny, had neatly coiffure hair that let just a strand fall onto his forehead. He was almost 6.5 feet tall and had those eyes that she could look into all day. He was just…perfect. “Perfect for what?” Ivan asked quizzically Aurora mentally chided herself. She hadn’t realized that she had said the last sentence out loud. Now, she knows that alcohol is not really her friend. But there is no denying that he is a better choice than Park. “Perfect to be my husband. Don’t mind me. That was a bad joke” Aurora said, laughing hysterically. “My fiancée cheated on me with my best man” Ivan suddenly said, his voice barely above a whisper “What a coincidence!” Aurora exclaimed “What a coincidence? I just told you what happened to me and all you can scream is ‘what a coincidence?” “Well, that’s because my fiancé slept with my sister two days before our wedding” “What! That is so low” “I know right? Come on, let’s take some shots as a toast to our broken hearts, then you can tell me your full story. I remember seeing you hitting your car and shouting Beth” Ivan smiled bitterly. “Beth…she was my fiancée. The most beautiful woman that I have ever seen in my entire life. We had dreams and goals. The day she agreed to marry me was the happiest day of my life. I never knew that she was a chameleon, only putting on the colours that she thinks that I’d love to see.” They took shots after shots of Tequilas and bloody Mary and soon enough their speech was slurred “So tell me, how did you find out? Did you catch them in the act? I don’t know which is more painful; catching them in the act or hearing it from someone else?” Ivan nodded “Pants down in my bride’s hotel suite. I was supposed to get married today but here I am, drowning my sorrows” “Oooh. That is sad. Maybe we can help ease our sorrows, seeing that we are both suffering from the same thing. I had to leave home today because my stepmother wants me to marry an old convulsing man that I do not even know.” “Noo. You win this round. Let us drink to you. You have the saddest story on the planet” “Whoooo! Cheers to me” As the hours ticked by, they grew closer, their bodies drawn together by a shared sense of loneliness and longing. Aurora smiled slyly when she noticed that Ivan kept looking at her without blinking. “Ivannn” she slurred. “It’s rude to stare. You might make me think that you really want to kiss me; and you don’t want to know what I’m thinking too” Ivan came closer and traced a line to lips and gently lifted her chin to meet him “I do not want you to think. I want to kiss you so bad right now, which is all I can think of” Aurora giggled and licked her lower lip. “I must be really drunk because that is all I want to do right now too.” With that, their lips came together, their tongues fighting for dominance in each other’s mouth, eliciting moans of pleasure from them.
