CHAPTER NINE
Half an hour later, after cocktails with Nona and Ed, who had to return to Seattle that evening by Airwest--Cindy and Curt were alone in the nice, luxurious motel suite! It was a little honeymoon gift from her soon-to-be sister-in-law and her nice, generous husband. Cindy had called her employer, told him the news, and he had told her to take her paid vacation of two whole wonderful weeks.
It was a dream! And she never wanted to wake up from it. The diamond ring sparkling on her finger told it all! Curt had sold his old Ford-- they would have to walk for a while--but nothing mattered! They would be together! Close and true and wildly in love . . .
"Now, don't you ever jump to the wrong conclusions again, you wonderful young animal, you," he breathed into her lips.
