Some of the escapees who were under Iolo’s nominal command, being formally Asperian Army soldiers, were tasked with gathering supplies. They had already identified a nearby stream in which everyone had gratefully washed themselves and their dirty clothes.
Krolith worried that he seemed to have inadvertently volunteered to act as bait to get Toluk out of the castle. Iolo kept repeating how brave he was and while he liked the attention, he was just throwing it out as an idea, not expecting to be the ‘bait’.
