Zeno Williams is a handsome, authoritative man and also a skilled businessman. He is known to be very cold and arrogant. The company rules he has established are absolute and must be followed. PT ZW is a company he successfully built on his own without any embellishments from the Williams group. It is a property company with many branches in several major cities.
Being the main heir of the Williams group makes Zeno very busy. Especially now that his relationship with his extended family is deteriorating, prompting him to visit only when summoned by his grandfather. Zeno's love life is always under public scrutiny because until now, he has never been seen close to any woman. Many rumors say that Zeno is married, but his wife has never been made public.
Today, Zeno deliberately came to ZW to check on the work of Kaizer, his younger brother, who currently serves as the director of ZW. Zeno stepped into the lobby of the PT ZW property office and suddenly stopped when he saw a woman he knew very well. Zeno smiled cynically because he was sure that the woman was Alea Jade, his wife. Wife? Of course, because he has not legally divorced her, even though they have been separated for six years.
"Dave, find out about that woman!" said Zeno.
"Which woman, Sir?" asked Dave.
"The woman named Alea Jade!" said Zeno.
"Alright, Sir," said Dave, immediately contacting the HR department and requesting data about Alea Jade.
Zeno was curious whether his brother Kaizer knew about Alea's presence in the company. If Kaizer knew, then this time the war would resume between him and Kaizer. Both are equally stubborn and often get into arguments over small matters until Harris Williams, their dad, has to intervene to separate them.
Zeno couldn't bear living in the main Williams household because he didn't like his stepmother, which caused Kaizer and him to fight due to Zeno's antipathy towards their mother. Zeno stepped towards the floor where Kaizer's office was located. He entered the elevator with Dave.
Dave Cox is Zeno's most efficient secretary, and Zeno trusts Dave to manage all his schedules. Zeno prefers male secretaries to avoid misunderstandings or discomfort. Moreover, women always try to get his attention, which annoys him, so he chooses to employ male secretaries.
The elevator doors opened, and they arrived at the floor where the main director's office of PT. ZW is located. Zeno indeed trained Kaizer very hard because, for him, building a new company is not easy. Therefore, Kaizer must succeed in advancing this company for one year before he trusts Kaizer, who wants to start a new business in the hotel industry.
Kaizer's secretary is a polite woman, which made the corners of Zeno's lips lift. He could guess that Kaizer would definitely fire the beautiful and sexy woman who used to be his secretary.
"Good afternoon, Sir," said Kaizer's Secretary, who seemed ready to go for lunch. Zeno just stared at her blankly, prompting Dave to immediately ask where Kaizer was.
"Is Mr. Kaizer in?" asked Dave.
"He's inside, Sir!" she explained.
Without further ado, Zeno entered Kaizer's office and saw Kaizer reading the documents on his desk. "I don't feel at a loss for making you the main director of my company," said Zeno, sitting on the sofa while leaning back and lifting his chin to show his arrogance, making Kaizer glare at his older brother.
"Afraid of losing? That's all you ever think about," mocked Kaizer, making Dave sigh because, as usual, the two would provoke each other and refuse to back down.
"Did you deliberately not tell me that my wife works here?" asked Zeno, causing Dave to be surprised because it confirmed the gossip that his boss was indeed married.
"I didn't know my sister-in-law was here, but hmmm... Is she still my sister-in-law?" teased Kaizer.
"Of course she's still my wife!" said Zeno coldly.
"A wife who left you because of your selfishness? Alea was smart enough to leave you before you discarded her. You think I don't know about that contract?" explained Kaizer, making Zeno look at Kaizer coldly again. "If I had been asked to marry her, maybe she would be happy with our children now," said Kaizer, deliberately trying to provoke Zeno's anger.
"You have no manners, Kai. Know your place; you're my younger brother!" said Zeno, reminding Kaizer that he is his older brother. No one is allowed to approach his wife, and he could even keep her locked up in his grand house. "Every Thursday, I'll come to check the reports. You know I have a lot of work, so you better use your smart brain so I won't be disappointed!" explained Zeno, making Kaizer want to punch the face that unfortunately also resembled his own.
Kaizer Williams is 27 years old and only four years younger than Zeno Williams. Currently, Zeno is 31 years old, and his wife Alea Jade is 25 years old. Zeno also has another younger sister from a different mother, named Nancy, who is currently 20 years old. For Zeno and Kaizer, Nancy is their little sister whom they will always protect, and taking care of Nancy is their priority as Nancy's older brothers.
"Coordinate with HR to bind Alea to a work agreement so she can't resign! Impose a heavy penalty if she breaches the work contract!" said Zeno.
"Are you going to maintain your marriage? Alea might have married another man by now. Are you going to be a nuisance and disrupt her peaceful life, Brother?" asked Kaizer sarcastically.
"I will sue any man who dares to marry my wife because Alea is still my wife, Kai!" said Zeno coldly, making Kaizer smirk because it seemed his brother would not let Alea go.
Kaizer was curious if Alea really worked here since he had never encountered her before. Perhaps when Alea found out he was the company's director, she would immediately resign. Kaizer could guess how Zeno's selfishness had made Alea leave without a trace all this time. He felt quite concerned and sorry for Alea because her family seemed indifferent to her whereabouts. According to their mother, Alea was a good and gentle woman. A woman as good as Alea wouldn't have dared to leave just because their marriage contract had ended. Kaizer was curious about what really happened.
"After meeting her, will you extend the contract?" asked Kaizer.
"That's none of your business!" said Zeno.
"Why bother her again? Let her be happy! Besides, you'll never experience falling in love. Maybe you just need her to warm your bed!" said Kaizer, making Zeno raise an eyebrow.
"What belongs to me will never be allowed to belong to someone else!" said Zeno.
Alea was his that night, and for Zeno, the contract they had signed was no longer valid. Since that incident, whenever Zeno was approached by other women, Alea's face would appear in his mind with a sad expression, making Zeno even colder towards women. Only one woman, Indira, never stopped trying to get close to Zeno. Her love for Zeno made her willing to do anything as long as she could have him.
"But it seems you won't be able to get Alea easily. She won't be afraid of your threats. It's clear that you still always help your in-laws even though your wife ran away from you!" said Kaizer, making Zeno glare at him.
"Prepare a CEO office in this building for me, and I will always keep an eye on you!" demanded Zeno, causing Kaizer to raise both his eyebrows.
"Okay, hmmm... a woman as beautiful as Alea must have another man by now, and I'm sure that man is better than you!" said Kaizer, leaning back in his grand chair and pointing at his older brother's face with an irritating smile.
"Even though you're my family, I assure you that your life won't be easy if you go against me!" said Zeno, making a smile appear on Kaizer's lips.
"You'd better improve your attitude, dear brother, or else you won't get Alea!" said Kaizer. "You have to show her your love, haha..." said Kaizer, seemingly mocking Zeno.
"I don't love her," said Zeno, who didn't understand his own feelings. Because if he could erase Alea's image all this time, he would surely follow his father's advice to find a new wife. But unfortunately, Zeno is not someone who can easily move on, unlike his father, who remarried just a few months after his biological mother's departure.
