William collected the telephone number and shook his head. Slowly, he raised his head to look at Julia. His concentration went back to the paper in his hand again. The next day, William went to work and begged the head maid at the place he worked to allow him to make the call.
The maid gave William permission and William called Hannah’s residence. To his dismay, everything was as Julia had said it. He ordered Hannah to come home and explain herself. All William wanted was to see Hannah. Once he did, he’d plan for her marriage with Mr. Tremblay immediately.
