When Allen looked at the two, she smiled. They were so cute, and she could tell they were very much in love. When she looked over at Boss, her smile dropped. The man had a frightening appearance; he was neither smiling nor frowning; he just appeared...grumpy? He also had his arms crossed in front of his chest, and it sort of looked like he was glaring at Allen, which caused the omega to curl in on herself and hold the hand that was wrapped around her waist.
"Boss knocks it off," Sebestian growled.
Boss rolled his eyes. "Where did you meet her?"
"The mating run."
Jace and Jon both stopped talking and gasped.
"What?" Allen asked them when she saw their shocked faces.
"Sebestian never ever goes to the mating run. He thinks it's stupid and uncalled for." Jon explained.
Allen laughed. "He's not wrong there."
"You went to a mating run? Why? So you could finally get an Omega toy?" Boss sneered using his alpha voice.
Allen whimpered. Sebestian looked over at Allen and then at Boss.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Boss?"
Boss sighed and looked at Allen once more. "Nothing. Just drop it."
A female alpha who had been their waiter for the evening suddenly interrupted them. The waiter told them that her name was Jackie and that she would be taking their orders. Allen didn't miss the looks she was giving Sebestian, and it caused a little jealousy. However, she pushed it down when she felt Sebestian nuzzle his nose into Allen's neck. Allen blushed, and when it was her time to order, she just ordered a simple hamburger with fries.
"So Allen, tell us a little about yourself," Jace said with a soft smile that made Allen feel more relaxed.
"Uh, there's not much to tell, really. I have two siblings, I work at a cafe, and, uh, I like to read and do archery."
Sebestian gasped. "You never told me you liked archery. This I have to see, darling."
Allen chuckled and shook her head. "It's nothing."
"I like this kid. She's not arrogant like someone I know." Jon said, pointing at Sebestian.
"That was rude," Sebestian said with a fake gasp, placing a hand over his heart.
Allen laughed and took a quick glance at Boss, who was still looking at her. However, this time he wasn't glaring, but there was still something else there. Allen shook her head and looked over at Sebestian, who was laughing at something Jon had said. When she looked to her side, she saw someone take a picture of her. She then saw the man turn away, but not before holding a hand to her ear and starting to talk. She quickly turned to Sebestian and tugged on his hand. Sebestian looked away from his friends and then at Allen.
"Sebestian, someone just took a picture of me. I think he has an earpiece in too." Allen whispered.
Sebestian looked behind Allen and saw a man in all black leaning up against the wall while holding his hand up to his ear and talking. He then saw the man sneak a glance their way, causing Sebestian to look away so the man wouldn't see. Sebestian then closed his eyes and used his wolf ears to see what the man was saying.
"Is that her?" The man spoke through the earpiece.
"Yes. Make sure she doesn't leave." A voice said something on the other side. That voice was very familiar, but Sebestian couldn't quite recognize it.
"You got it, boss."
Sebestian opened his eyes and looked at his friends, who were now looking at Sebestian. He then tightened his grip on Allen.
"We need to get Allen out of here," Sebestian whispered to them.
"What? Why?" Jace asked.
"That man over there was talking with someone. He was told not to let Allen leave. I don't like this."
Jace nodded. He then looked behind him and saw three men dressed in black, all looking their way.
"We'll cause a distraction. You get your mate out of here, Sebestian."
Sebestian nodded. He then saw his three friends stand up and start to shout at each other. He saw Jace push Boss, and Jon got in between the two, trying to break them apart. Sebestian looked over at the three men, one of whom was the man who had the earpiece, and focused on his friends. A bunch of staff rushed over, trying to break the two apart, causing a barrier for Sebestian and Allen to head towards the door. Sebestian grabbed Allen's wrist and pulled her out of the booth and out of the doors. He then pushed Allen into the car and got in it himself. A few seconds later, he was driving away. Looking in the rear-view mirror to see if anyone was following them, and luckily no one was.
"Are you alright, sweetheart?" Sebestian asked.
Allen sighed and nodded. "Yeah. What was even going on? Why did they want me?"
"I don't know, darling. I'm so sorry. This is all because of me. If I didn't bring you there, then this wouldn't have happened." Sebestian said it with guilt in his tone.
Allen nodded and leaned over in his seat to kiss his cheek. "Can I tell you something?"
"Of course."
"Before you, no one would ever stick up for me. I was an omega—a worthless omega—and no one cared what happened to me. Well, I mean, there were my siblings, but I was the one who was supposed to take care of them. I'm the oldest. Anyway, sometimes when I was walking home from school, Kara would have cheerleading practice and Ohm football practice, and I would walk home all by myself. Our home wasn't very far, but it was far enough for alphas to come up to me and offer me money to have s*x with them. Or they would try to force themselves on me. I fought them off, of course, but the point is, I've dealt with this crap my whole life. It's not your fault. Things like that happen all the time. How are we supposed to know when they will happen? Sebestian, it wasn't your fault."
Allen looked at Sebestain, which was resting on the consul, and kissed the back of it. "I actually had fun. Your friends are nice and cool. Well, except for Boss, I don't think he likes me all that much."
Sebestian sighed. "I don't know what his problem is. He's never like that. Well, I mean, he is, but he's not."
Allen laughed. "That didn't make sense, but I think I get it."
A few minutes later, they were now at their house, sitting on the couch, watching a movie. When Sebestian felt Allen's head rest on his shoulder, he looked down and saw that Allen had fallen asleep. Sebestian knew that Allen must have been tired the whole day due to the heat she had just gotten over. She kissed the top of her head and took out her phone to send a text to Jace.
He needs to know what's actually going on. Is this related to that fucker, Seth?
Or someone else?
