I must have fallen asleep while Xavier took me home, because I woke up later in the day in our bed. I rolled over and the clock read 3 pm. Xavier was next to me still sleeping. I slowly stretched and stared at the ceiling, pondering everything that happened over the last 24 hours. My hand rested on my abdomen, and I swear it felt warmer than the rest of my skin. I really wanted to take a pregnancy test because I was dying to know if Xavier had managed to knock me up. Not that I doubted Serena, but I wanted the certainty that came from peeing on a stick. I could always have one of my colleagues do a discrete blood test the next time I worked. I laid in bed pondering all the ramifications of a baby. A BABY!
