Rescue
Cutler dragged David out of the cave and over to where she"d left the satellite phone. There was a pulse, there was breathing, but those could cease at any moment. She tried to dial the office, but her hands were shaking so badly, she had to stop and dial a second time more slowly. It was answered before it rang.
"Cutler?"
"I need an ambulance. Now! I need emergency medical help to get David off this f*****g mountain, and I need clearance to get him to the nearest hospital without delay!"
Now! "What about the jewel?"
"The jewel is dead! I ate it. It"s still sitting in my stomach. But David"s still alive! I don"t know how, just get here!"
