Ellie  By the time we got to the house, it was lunchtime. DJ ordered pizza because I insisted there was no time to stop. I still had a dozen appointments to set and confirm. That didn’t even cover everything I needed to inspect and fix, but I was determined to give him a little more time so he didn’t feel like I was blowing him off. “Alright,” I said, trying to push down the frustration at not being able to tear in like I was accustomed to. “I will give you a tour, then you need to go.” “Go?” He put his hands on my hips. “Yes, you are a major distraction.” The laugh was natural and genuine. I was torn between wanting time with him and doing what I needed to. He made me feel so good, and I wanted to hold on to it. But I also knew it couldn’t and wouldn’t go anywhere. He’d be gone.
