Chapter 1 - The Plane to the Unknown II

284 Words
He closed his eyes for a moment, but the thoughts wouldn't quiet down. Turin. The name of the city pulsed in his mind with every heartbeat. He didn’t know what to expect. He didn’t know who he would meet. All he knew was that the ground below was becoming the past, and the air he floated in – the future. In his pocket was a crumpled letter, a torn page from an old notebook. Someone had written: “Don’t forget why you left. But also, don’t forget who you are.” He had read it so many times that the words had burned into his vision. He wore them like an invisible shield against fear. The plane rocked gently. The clouds wrapped around him like a white blanket, but his thoughts kept him wide awake. A flight attendant walked by with a smile, but he didn’t react. His gaze was lost somewhere between nothing and everything. In a corner of his mind, a voice whispered: > “What if you’re not enough? What if you fail?” Then another voice, quieter, but clearer: > “But what if you don’t?” Italy now lay beneath him – vast, mysterious, its roads weaving through mountains and golden rooftops. It was beautiful, but unknown. And somewhere, in the heart of that land, a black and white city was waiting. Not the promise of an easy life, but the beginning of a real fight. A city where football wasn’t just a sport – it was religion. A city where every wrong step could become a scar, but every right one – a legend. Turin. The city of the strong. The city of those who never give up.
