Trapped

GWENDOLYN “I have things in my past just like everyone else, including you,” he paused and I saw the way he raised his brow at me; as if he was daring me to react at the fact that he had just poked at an open wound. God! I hated him. The urge to smash that smug look off his face was overwhelming but at the same time, I couldn’t help but wonder why every nerve in my body was reacting to him being so close to me. Images of that night in the club flashed through my mind… his strong hands gripping my hips, his breath on my neck… I absentmindedly squeezed my thighs together, wondering what it would feel like to have him buried inside of me again but I shook my head quickly. I need to focus. If I was ever going to get my revenge on Camille and permanently get rid of the video with Casimir before it sees the light of day then I need to be on my best game. I needed to get into the head of the man seated in front of me but it didn’t look like it was going to be an easy task. “Your sister might think she has found something but I can assure you that whatever it is will be of no use to her in court.” He added, sounding too confident that it unnerved me. I knew Camille too well, she was just as vicious as she was beautiful and when she has her mind set on destroying someone, she goes all out, just like she had done with me that night in college. “Public opinion can help sway a case, all she needs is a scandal and we’ll have a real problem on our hands.” “Then it’s a good thing I have you, isn’t it?” He smirked, “to make sure those silly rumors don’t hold any value in the case.” That annoying smirk of his, that was the final straw. I had had enough of his arrogance already. “If you can’t trust me enough to tell me what I need to know then I don’t see how this is going to work,” I rose to my feet sharply, “I think we’re done here.” I didn’t even wait for a reply, I turned and walked away from him, heading straight for the elevator. As soon as I stepped inside, I heaved a sigh of relief, finally able to breathe properly with him no longer in my space. There was something about the man that just suddenly made the air around him unbreathable. Aggressively, I jammed my fingers on the button and the doors began to slide shut. What was I even thinking when I agreed to this deal with him? It was insane; I just needed to get my things and get as far away from Ashborough as possible. I never should have come back here. Suddenly, someone’s hand slid between the tiny crack of the elevator’s door just in time to stop it from sliding shut. I glanced up and my eyes rested on Casimir walking into the elevator, both hands pressed inside the pocket of his perfectly tailored dark suits. “We weren’t done talking.” He said, and the doors slid shut behind him, sealing us in. The strong scent of his perfume filled my nostrils, stuffing every crack inside of me until the only thing I could sense was him. “I said there’s nothing more to talk about Casimir so can you please get lost.” I hissed, inching backwards away from him but it didn’t matter how spacious the elevator was, my back soon slammed against the cold steel wall and he began to step closer. My heart skipped a beat with each step he took. No. No. No. Every nerve inside of me seemed to be screaming out loud for me to get far away from him but there was nowhere to run to. I tried to slide away from him to the other side of the elevator when he suddenly brought his hand down firmly on the wall beside my head, caging me in place as his body moved inched close enough for me to feel our bodies graze against each other. “What the f**k do you want? Get away from me or I’ll call security.” I yelled, my hands shot up to push him back but the moment my hand made contact with him, a weird jolt shot through me. My breath caught in my throat, “Breathe,” he whispered softly, his eyes looking straight into mine with such intensity that made me squirm underneath his towering frame. “I said breathe, Gwen.” He repeated more firmly this time. “Don’t tell me what to do.” I gasped, my chest tightened. “Or what?” He challenged, his head tilting back in amusement, “what will you do in here, Gwen? There’s nowhere to run. It’s just you. And me. And this…” his hand suddenly shot up and I squeezed my eyes shut, my heart pounding against my chest as I braced myself for his touch. But he didn’t touch me, he simply traced a line so close to my lips that I could feel the heat of his skin. His eyes dropped to my lips, and my heart dropped to my stomach at the thought of what he was about to do. His lips were now so close that the tiny space between us seemed to be charged with static electricity, “Tell me to stop,” he whispered, his lips slightly brushing against mine as his body pressed down on mine. I could feel every inch of him against me. My breath hitched, “We should stop.” My voice sounded weak even to my own ears, “Say it like you mean it,” he challenged, his voice low and rough, “look me in the eye and tell me to walk away, Gwendolyn.” I opened my mouth but the words died in my throat. My traitorous body inched closer to him instead. A devilish smirk twisted his lips and his eyes darkened. “That’s what I thought…”
