Amara’s POV
After spending the day at Gabriel's place, I was astounded to see Donovan waiting for me outside my building. He confirmed to the guard, "It's fine. She’s my nephew's wife. Right, Amara?”
I took a deep breath and sighed as I looked at him, “Yes, I know him. It’s okay…”
The guard gives a nod and goes back to his post.
As I walked toward Donovan, I saw uncertainty and confusion in my eyes. What did he have to do with being here? How long did he wait for me? Perhaps Parker summoned him to be here.
I asked, “What are you doing here?”
Donovan’s eyes wrinkled as he smiled at me and replied, “Well, I’m here to see you, my beautiful Amara.”
I gave him a stink eye, “Don’t call me that.”
