"The crime group I'm a part of is called The Facinus Cartel. Amara, I am not the man you imagined for yourself. I'm farther away than that, so maybe it's best for you to stay away from me," he said intently, casting a painful look at me with his eyes.
In the midst of my shock and bewilderment, I held my breath and stared at him with a strange, numbing calm.
I couldn't believe the man I married was a member of a major crime group.
While shaking my head, I felt hot tears coming into my eyes and said, "N–No, tell me you're joking, right?"
When I turned around, he grabbed both of my arms and said, "I'm not."
"Why? Why did you get involved with the crime group? Seriously, you have two businesses and come from a wealthy family. Parker, what makes you decide to go this way?
