“Huh?”
I gently tapped her shoulder and laughed, “I was just kidding. Let’s go?”
I knocked at my mother’s room, and she said, “Come in.”
As I opened the door, I saw her texting on her phone and munching an apple. "Really? Are you okay now?" I asked her with a frown. Then I put my bag on the table and said, "You are already swiping on your phone."
"Well, Doctor Craig told me it's okay to use my phone for fun," she replied. Then she waved her hand at Mia, standing beside me. "Hello, Mia! How are things with you?"
"I'm okay," Mia said as she sat down on the couch. "Noah just left me for someone else. Life is what it is, and I have to accept it and go on."
