It was unexpected that my mother would give her life to protect me. Since I know she will never do that to me; she would rather push me for the bullet to protect herself. But this time, she's different—but a loving mother.
"Will she be okay?" I asked the woman who tried to get my mom into the ambulance. The only thing on my mind was making sure my mom was okay; after all, what she had done earlier made me believe she truly wanted my forgiveness.
“Yes. We need to get her to the hospital right away, and you can go with us."
