Lily
I woke slowly, aware of warmth before I was aware of anything else. My cheek was pressed against a solid chest, my leg tangled with his, his arm heavy around my waist. For a moment, I didn’t move. I just listened...to his steady heartbeat.
When I finally blinked my eyes open, the room was bathed in the soft, gray light of early morning. I didn’t have to move to know I wasn’t alone. The heat radiating against my back was a constant, steady anchor, and the arm draped over my waist held me with a possessive gentleness I hadn’t known existed.
I shifted slightly, and the hold tightened just a fraction.
"You’re awake," Davian murmured. His voice was thick with sleep, a low vibration that thrummed right through my spine.
