Eight Shadows POV
Tahimik ang command center. Ang monitors, blinking lights, at ang subtle hum ng servers—lahat ay normal, orderly.
Pero sa tabi-tabi naming Eight Shadows… may kakaibang aura sa hangin.
Hex, fingers flying over the keyboard, hindi mapigilang ngumiti.
“Guys… tingnan niyo siya,” mahina niyang sabi.
Ang mata niya naka-focus kay Auren—arms crossed, posture stiff, pero may flicker ng… something. Something we all recognized.
Lynx, nakaupo sa corner, arms folded, rifle optics idle pero eyes sharp, napansin ang subtle jaw clench ni Auren.
“He’s… irritated. And more importantly… distracted,” bulong niya.
Solene, while checking tactical response kits, barely hides a smirk.
“Focus? Discipline? Distance?” she whispered. “Hahaha… hindi na siya makontrol.”
Kade at Rion exchanged silent glances, each aware ng micro-expression—the way his shoulders stiffened, the slight narrowing ng mata.
“Parang… parang natutunaw na ‘yung cold prince natin,” Rion muttered under his breath, barely audible.
Drax leaned back, analytical as ever, but even he couldn’t hide the corner of his mouth twitching.
“He’s human. And she… she’s doing this to him without even trying.”
Tess, always observing, simply shook her head in silent amusement.
“Not a mission, not a threat… just a girl. And he’s losing control. Priceless.”
Vira, silent as always, finally allowed herself a quiet, soft chuckle.
“The prince who never falters… now faltering. It’s almost poetic.”

Auren — POV
Ako, nakatayo sa gitna, arms crossed, eyes scanning security feeds.
Pero alam ko… alam ko na nararamdaman nila. The subtle amusement of the Eight Shadows.
I hate it. I hate that they see it. I hate that… somehow, they’re right.
Celestine. Again.
Her presence lingers in my mind, disruptive, unavoidable.
Distance. Focus. Discipline. Mantra ko ito, mantra na sinasabi ko sa sarili. Pero ngayon… broken.

“Guys, see that?” Hex leaned closer to the monitors, pointing subtly.
“Every micro-expression… he’s losing his calm. Eyes flick, jaw tense, fingers tapping… every little tic. He’s… melting.”
Lynx suppressed a laugh.
“Melting? That’s putting it lightly. He’s practically human for once.”
Solene nodded.
“Ang galing niya… pero di niya alam na nakikita natin. At kita natin lahat. Basta’t… para tayong nanonood ng silent fireworks.”

Drax adjusted his glasses, observing Auren with calculated precision.
“He’s not just distracted. He’s… noticing her. And it’s affecting every single calculation he makes.”
Tess smirked, leaning slightly toward him.
“Finally. Someone challenging him—not with combat, not with intel… just with presence.”
Drax gave a soft chuckle.
“A variable we never anticipated. A variable he cannot control. Fascinating.”

Rion tapped a finger against the console, still watching.
“Alam niyo ba? Parang lagi na lang may pull sa kanya pag kasama siya sa screen. Hindi ko ma-describe… pero ramdam mo yung tension.”
Kade grinned.
“Yeah. And the funny part? He’s not even aware he’s being… human.”

I leaned back silently, observing all, a faint smirk tugging at my lips.
“Eight Shadows, all aligned. Watching our strategist. And yet, even we’re helpless against… her effect on him. It’s strange, yes… dangerous. Pero nakakatawa rin.”

I could feel them—eyes on me, subtle laughter, quiet observation.
I hate that they see it. I hate that they notice the pull, the disruption. I hate that… maybe, deep down, I’m aware of it too.

The mantra fails. Again.

No words needed.
Ang cold prince…
Ang strategist na walang pinapalampas.
Ang taong alam lahat…
He’s melting.
Soft laughter echoed among the team, silent but full of amusement.
“We have front row seats to his undoing,” Tess whispered.
“Yes,” Drax nodded. “And it’s… strangely satisfying.”
Even Vira, normally the quiet observer, allowed herself a small, satisfied smirk.
“He’s human. Finally.”
