Anna’s POV

It was at that moment that I realized I was officially ruined. There was no way I was coming out of this unscathed. Alpha Jaime left now. This time, he didn’t seem angry. It felt as if he had accepted the fact that I could never be a good partner for him. As usual, Hailey and Laila came to me. Laila tasted the meal and spat out too.

“You see the mess I made…” I muttered. “All my life, I have never messed up a meal. I was better at cooking than everyone I took the cooking class with. My father was a picky man. I cooked all his meals when he was sick and he enjoyed them.”

“Don’t blame yourself, my lady,” Laila tried to soothe me.

“I am a failure. I can’t even cook a simple meal. I simply added side ingredients to the salt I cooked,” I told her. The moment I said this, I stood up and realized. There was no way I would make a mistake this big. The meal wasn’t slightly over-salted. It was on a huge scale. I turned towards Hailey. Again, she averted my eyes. Now, this was suspicious. All of a sudden, she raised her head.

“It is all my fault! I should have confirmed it wasn’t over-salted before we served…” Hailey said carefully. Now, she began to shed tears. I felt sorry for her.

“It isn’t your fault, Hailey!” I reassured her. I should be the one crying instead. I sat down again, thinking about how messed up my life was.

“Everything will be fine,” Laila tried.

“No,” I shook my head. “I think it’s about time I leave the Alpha’s castle. I had more peace in my father’s home. I will just stay there without getting mated to another. I will remain a spinster forever and…”

“Please do that!” Hailey said as she cried more. “I love your family house more than this place. It seems this place has some bad luck. You will be happier and more comfortable in the family house too.”

Laila stared at Hailey, “You weakling! Shouldn’t you convince her to stay instead? How could you be this self-centered?”

“I am only saying it for her own good!” Hailey replied. “She isn’t happy here. Will you take responsibility if she gets depressed?”

“You should look for ideas to make her happy. Stop having a backward mentality!” Laila shouted back at Hailey. Now they were fighting. This only annoyed me further.

“Stop!” I shouted. “Both of you are only making me angrier.”

I walked away and both of them followed me. It seemed as if their rivalry had just started.

I didn’t see Alpha Jamie for the next two weeks. He seemed to be avoiding me. I was ashamed to see him as well. On top of this, rumors about my failed attempts to please the Alpha spread among the maids. Being the subject of the gossip made me feel worse.

Laila tried to make me feel better but that was almost impossible. I cried myself to sleep many times, believing I was useless. However, one night, I decided to stop being a pitiful soul. I decided to see Alpha Jamie.

“Get my maid!” I told the guard. However, he came back and told me that he couldn’t find Hailey in her quarters. That was what happened the last time I wanted to visit Alpha Jamie.

“She must have fallen asleep in the garden again…” I muttered. Now I turned to the guard, “Prepare. You will escort me to the Alpha’s quarters.”

I dressed up simply but with a mindset to resolve every misunderstanding with Alpha Jamie tonight. I would kneel and beg for forgiveness if I had to. The guards at his room were shocked to see me and they offered to inform the Alpha of my presence.

“Don’t bother,” I told them with a smile on my face. I walked to his room and opened the door quietly. He must be asleep, I told myself.

However, what I saw was the back of a naked woman. She was riding Alpha Jamie with her ass jingling. She was moaning in a voice that sounded familiar. Taking in the scene before me, I walked in properly. The woman turned and our eyes met. She stopped right away, jumping out of the bed. Alpha Jamie looked shocked as well but he remained on the bed, feeling no remorse.

The woman was Hailey.

It all began to make sense.

I struggled to breathe properly, “What is happening here?”

“What else?” Alpha Jamie asked confidently. “Come here, Hailey. You are so confident behind her. Why did you jump out of the bed?”

Hailey didn’t reply. She was taken aback and she seemed to be recovering. Afterwards, she went back to Alpha Jamie. He was half-hard and she began to suck him to make him fully hard again. My knees felt weak as I fell down. I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks. When he got fully hard, she began to ride me again, making ecstatic moans without minding my presence.

Unable to restrain myself, I stood up and ran towards her. I grabbed her hair, pulling her out of bed. I hit her angrily and from behind, Alpha Jamie hit me too.

I fainted.

When I woke up, Laila was with me. I was at the healer’s place. She was holding my hand. I could still remember what happened before I fainted.

“What happened to that b***h?” I asked Laila immediately.

“She was brought to the healer’s place as well…” Laila replied hesitantly. “She was taken back to the Alpha’s residence by Alpha Jamie himself.”

Tears began to gather in my eyes now.

“You warned me but I failed to listen. I should have never trusted Hailey,” I said regretfully. I clenched my fists angrily. I couldn’t accept this betrayal.

“There is more,” Laila interrupted my thoughts.

“What?” I asked curiously.

“She is…” Laila took a deep breath. “Hailey is pregnant.”
