The real estate company was bustling with clients. Each client wore expensive attire, and the saleswomen were busy flattering them.
As soon as the saleswomen noticed him, they frowned, and no one wanted to attend to him. Ruth wanted to inquire but felt helpless under their disdainful glares.
He realized that even asking about a house would be difficult, let alone buying one.
Just as he was about to leave the crowded real estate office, a young girl approached him and asked politely, "Valued customer, what can I do for you?"
As soon as the girl spoke to him, one of the saleswomen scolded her. "Salina, what are you doing? Can’t you see his attire? Do you really think he can afford anything here? Just send him away and focus on real clients."
The young girl bit her lip and replied, "How can you say something like that? Isn’t it our job to treat every client with courtesy?"
The saleswoman scoffed. "Hmph. I was just trying to help you. You’re still new, so you don’t understand how things work here."
Salina pouted and said, "I'm just doing my job, and I don’t think he’s trying to scam me. Not everyone gets the same kind of pretentious clients as you do."
The other saleswomen began whispering among themselves. From their murmurs, it was clear that the woman who had scolded Salina was close to the company’s manager. The rest of the staff seemed reluctant to get involved, their hushed voices suggesting that the newbie was in trouble.
Ruth shook his head and sighed. "Looks like I’ve caused trouble for you. Will you still attend to me?"
Salina nodded without hesitation. "As long as you want me to, I will."
Ruth acknowledged her response with a nod. "I wasn’t planning on buying anything expensive, but it seems I shouldn’t hold back here."
Salina was momentarily confused but remained professional. "What kind of property are you looking for? Do you want to buy a house or a villa? Or are you looking to rent an apartment or a house? Whatever you need, I’ll find the right options for you."
Salina nodded as she said, "As long as you wish, I will attend to you."
Ruth acknowledged her with a nod and replied, "I didn’t intend to buy anything expensive, but it seems I must not hold back here."
Salina was slightly confused but still asked, "What kind of property are you looking for? Do you want to buy a house or a villa, or are you looking to rent an apartment or a house? Whatever you need, I will find it for you."
Ruth pondered for a moment before replying, "I need two houses. First, a cheap one on the outskirts of the city—somewhere peaceful, with minimal disturbance. Find me the most secluded place you can."
Salina frowned slightly at his request but maintained her composure. "We have a few properties that match your criteria," she said. "May I ask what your budget is?"
Ruth shook his head. "I don’t care about the price." He then added, "Also, buy me a luxury mansion. I'll leave the choice up to you."
Reaching into his pocket, he retrieved a card and handed it to her. "The PIN is 0001. Don't worry about the cost—just complete the documentation as soon as possible."
Salina was shocked by the man's carefree nature. Is he for real? Can he really afford both a house and a mansion? What if I get scammed? I'll become a laughingstock!
Still uncertain, she asked again for confirmation. "Sir, you want me to select both the house and the mansion for you?"
Ruth simply nodded.
"Sir, this will cost you a couple of million dollars. Are you sure you want to buy both?"
Ruth smiled. "Yes, you don’t need to worry about anything. Just swipe the card and collect the payment before completing the paperwork."
Salina hesitated for a moment before saying, "We have a mansion near the city center for $125 million. It's quite spacious, so you won’t be disturbed in your activities. Additionally, there's a small house on the outskirts of the city, priced at $200,000."
She did a quick calculation before adding, "Your total comes to $125,200,000."
Ruth nodded in acknowledgment.
Just then, the saleswoman who had scolded Salina earlier returned. She grabbed the black card from his hand and sneered, "What kind of worthless card is this? If you're going to make a fake, at least do it properly."
Salina quickly snatched the card back, her expression firm. "You don’t have to speak like that. He’s my client, and any issues concerning him are my responsibility."
Without hesitation, she swiped the card and entered the amount. The room fell silent as everyone watched in anticipation.
Ding...
A robotic voice announced, "You have successfully transferred 125 million and 200 thousand to Rosewood Real Estate Private Limited."
The mechanical sound of the transaction was oddly mesmerizing. Salina, who had braced herself for the worst, could barely contain her joy. Not only had she secured a massive deal, but she had also earned a $50,000 commission—an amount that would have taken her over a year to accumulate under normal circumstances.
The arrogant saleswoman was left speechless. She trembled, overwhelmed with regret.
The crowd whispered among themselves, their curiosity piqued. Who was this young man? No one had ever heard of him before, yet he had just spent a fortune as if it were nothing. Some even questioned whether the definition of "second-generation rich" had changed. Others wondered if he was in his right mind.
How could someone capable of spending hundreds of millions dress so simply? His clothes didn’t look like they cost more than a hundred dollars.
Even the wealthier young elites felt embarrassed. The money they had once flaunted so confidently now seemed trivial in comparison. The previously bustling company lobby grew eerily silent.
Breaking the silence, an elderly woman approached Ruth. "Young man, I don’t believe I’ve seen you before. Did you just move to this city?"
Ruth, who had been leisurely twirling his card between his fingers, turned and smiled. "Oh, how impolite of me. I’m Ruth Vernard. I was born here but spent the past few years doing odd jobs elsewhere. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
The old woman smiled warmly. "What a wonderful young man. I am Sabrina Moore."
At the mention of her name, the surrounding onlookers gasped. Yet, the most surprising thing was Ruth’s reaction—or rather, the lack of it. He appeared completely unaware of the significance of the Moore family name.
Sabrina, however, didn’t seem bothered by his ignorance. She simply said, "Do visit the Moore family when you have time. Just mention my name, and I will personally welcome you."
Ruth nodded. "I’ll consider it."
Shortly after, the paperwork was completed.
Salina returned from the office, beaming. "Sir, all the paperwork is done."
Ruth glanced around before asking, "Hmm, will this work for me? I just bought two houses, but I have no idea how to manage them. Also, don’t worry about your salary—I’ll pay you $5,000 per month."
His generous offer left the other saleswomen seething with envy.
Salina hesitated for a moment before replying, "As long as you don’t treat me badly, I am willing to follow you, sir."
Ruth handed her the keys to his mansion. "I trust you to manage it well. I won’t be there every day, but I’ll visit from time to time."
Salina felt a twinge of disappointment at his words, but she nodded and accepted the keys.
The saleswomen learned a new lesson.
With the key to his new house in hand, Ruth decided to roam the city for a while before heading home.
