Mara's POV
I waited to see Michael go close to the house, I did not want him to see go back into the house. I needed to give Mrs Martin update on how far I had gone with our plan. Michael wanted me closer which meant that he had probably given up on Malem. Sometimes I wonder how a mother can be so manipulative even for her own daughter. But I guess in the end she wanted what was best for her daughter and she also felt that was not Michael. Her intentions were pure but mine were not and I have come to peace with that.
I immediately rushed in, dropped my bag and started towards the house before the others could ask me any question. They were so nosy omg! This was one of the reasons why I needed to move out.
