Andrea’s rapid-fire commentary finally slowed, her brows knitting together. “Marionne? Not really, no. I think she visited the ranch a few years back, but I was still in high school then. From what I heard, she was... different.”
“Wow,” Millie replied, feigning curiosity with just enough enthusiasm. “You must’ve been pretty young when you started working here.”
Andrea gave a half-shrug. “Well, not that young,” she said with a laugh. “Actually, I just started two years ago.”
She hesitated for a second, then added, “So yeah, I never met Marionne face-to-face. But I heard she wasn’t exactly pleasant. Especially not to Sheila, who’s been here longer than anyone.”
Millie tilted her head. “Mean to Sheila specifically, or just everyone in general?”
