Chapter Three

1363 Words
Leo walked past Maya in the sitting room and out of the house. He had ignored her since the previous night's altercation. Maya looked at the clock on the table, it was 5: 43 p.m. as she heard the sound of Leo's car leaving the compound. Anabelle, Cornell's mate, had mentioned Leo and Cornell's journey to the Blue Island woods that night while they had a little chit-chat in the morning. She was certain that was where he was headed. She ran a comb through her blonde hair, straightening it as it rested gorgeously on her shoulders. She giggled as she looked at her image in the mirror, she knew she was beautiful, even if Leo would not admit it. She remembered her talk with Anabelle and how she acted like she already knew about the journey to the Blue Islands and sighed. Her cross was hers alone to carry and she didn't want to involve anyone. She heard the sound of a car pulling in front of the door and her heart jumped. It occurred to her then that Leo's presence had started to startle her. She was certain it was Leo who came back to pick something up until the knocks came. Leo had the keys to the house and wouldn't knock if he was the one. Maya hesitated. The knock came again. This time, louder. She went to the door, opened it, and met with the elegant dark-skinned man in a crimson shirt before her. It was Ryan. Looking at him closely, Maya had to admit he was good-looking. "Hello, Maya. Can I come in?" He spoke up. Maya feigned a smile and stepped aside, gesturing Ryan into the house. His gaze was still discomforting as she tried hard not to squirm. "Sorry, I came unannounced. My car was stuck in the woods and I decided to pass the night here." Ryan said in his usual calm voice. "Oh..okay, it's fine." Maya could sense a lie. Ryan had always made her feel awkward since they met, something she despised. She wanted to be left alone but still couldn't send Ryan away. "Leo is not around," Maya told him. He was already relaxing on the sofa. Who offered him a seat? Maya wondered. "Okay, it's fine if he is not around. We will catch up when he returns." Maya nodded, grinned, and went into the kitchen to get something for her visitor. She felt it was unnecessary to ask what he wanted since all she had to offer was pasta…and maybe black tea. She brought out two tea bags from their pack in the refrigerator and placed them in different mugs before turning on the cooker to boil water. Ryan's presence and his visit when Leo was out perturbed her. She filled the urn with the water that had boiled, placed everything needed in the tray, and left the kitchen. In a few minutes, she served Ryan and turned to leave but was held back by the firm grip of a rough hand. "Please, don't leave. Let's have tea together." Maya looked into his eyes and was met with a strong convincing look. She didn't want to stay but somehow found herself pulling out the chair to join Ryan. She reached out to the urn for hot water but was again stopped by that cold, rough hand. His hands confirmed that the werewolf before her had seen so many seasons, and decades and had toured various mounts and woods. "Let me be a gentleman and help make tea for you," Ryan said as a grin escaped his lips. "I can help myself." Maya was still holding the urn and shrewd her arm out of Ryan's grip. "I insist." Maya could hear the firm resolve in his voice. She decided to let him have his way because she knew he wouldn't give up easily. In less than a minute, her tea was ready. She didn't pay complete attention to Ryan as he made it. Her eyes were moving around the house in a random motion like she was searching for something like she hadn't lived in the house for over a year. Her eyes returned to the table when Ryan passed over the tea to her. She watched Ryan gulp the mug while stirring at intervals. She took a sip too while staring at the open space to avoid his eyes. "So, how are you and Leo?" Ryan broke the silence. "We are fine." "Maya, that's a lie." Maya dropped her mug and glanced at him. She wondered if her misery and loneliness had become evident, so evident that this werewolf could say it to her face. "Leo and I…" Maya paused and cleared her throat. She was beginning to feel groggy and couldn't place her hands on the reason. Her cranky tone was also apparently selling her out. "Leo and I are fine." "That's another lie, Miss Maya." "Then why do you ask since you already know the truth?" Maya's tone was high-pitched with a smidgen of anger. "I'm sorry if my question annoyed you." Maya was tight-lipped. She wanted to vent her anger on Ryan but couldn't. Not because she cared about his reaction but because her strength was failing her, her eyes were closing and her hands couldn't hold on to the mug again. "I have to retire to the room now." Maya stood up and pulled the chair backwards. Her eyes were spinning and it felt her body had become too big for her legs to carry. She leaned on the wall to catch her breath but was caught by Ryan. "I'm fine, I can help myself inside," Maya said tartly despite her weakness. She doubted if Ryan heard her because he didn't stop or look at her. Instead, he positioned his shoulder under her arm and supported her as they waddled into the bedroom. Maya knew he couldn't stop him, she didn't have the strength to. So close to her, Ryan could perceive the scintillating scent of her skin and feel its softness too. Despite being a werewolf, he knew she was young, too young for the life she was living. In the bedroom, Ryan gently removed Maya's arm from his shoulder and helped her sit on the bed, and in a split second, she fell to the bed with a thud revealing her thick thighs. Ryan looked at Maya. He felt it was a chance, an opportunity he had to grab. He had always fantasized about Maya and stared even longer to convince himself that she was before him. He lifted his right hand and placed them on her thighs. Thrilled by the softness of her skin, he caressed further. He unzipped her flair skirt uncovering her flowery lingerie and continued to press his hand against her body. Somehow, the touches stirred up a deep sense of passion, an insatiable and unbridled passion for pleasure as Ryan hastily made his way to her lips, locking her lower lip with his. Ryan's touches triggered Maya's raw, hungry sensuality. She realized how much she needed these manly touches and kisses, Leo had starved her all this while. She felt her n****e rub against his hairy chest and realized he had used his left hand to unbutton her shirt and unhook her bra while he kissed her. She knew what she was letting him do was wrong, she wanted to object but was too weak and too aroused to deny she didn't enjoy every bit. "Ryan, stop." Maya's words were more moaning than words as his teeth bit her right n****e. She felt him kissing her neck downwards but least expected that bite. Somehow, she felt pain, sweet, pleasurable pain. Maya's words seemed to do the opposite. Instead of stopping Ryan, it pleased him to know he pleasured this woman he had fantasized about. He ran his hands over her luscious breasts, plucked her n****e and squeezed hard. Maya felt a rush of sensation. She was done holding back. She reached out to Ryan and let her hands do some work by pulling off his clothes. She drew him closer and let him have her, every bit of her.
