Kai’s POV
I was leaning against my bike outside the school gates, arms crossed, waiting for Aria like an i***t. I knew she probably wouldn’t come with me even if I begged, but I still hung around like a lovesick puppy. After a while I checked my phone, sighed, and kicked the stand up. “f**k it. She’s not showing. I’m going home.”
I started the engine when one of my buddies, Jake, came sprinting after me, laughing his ass off like he’d heard the best joke ever. “Kai! Wait up, man! You won’t believe what I just saw!”
I killed the engine and turned. “What?”
