2020 Dangerous times

Chapter XIII

                                                                                      Hook's proposal

               The Roman authorities were trying to save as many lives as possible and to keep in mind the possible landslides. In order to make sure that everything possible is done for you in this case, David sent his own people to help but also to supervise the situation. Without wasting time, he demanded that Adrian be brought to the interrogation room where he would do his best to find out everything there was to know about the latest bomb. Adrian was put on the chair with his hands behind his back in handcuffs and left alone in the room. Soon Hook and David entered the room.

             - David, aren't you tired of trying to persuade me to stop this crazy plan?

            - Yes, but I don't do the interrogation. I tried the beautiful and you didn't want to. Now it's his turn, David  said, pointing to his colleague.

            - Do you think i'm afraid? This step must be taken. The Illuminati may be evil in what they do or want to do, but at least they put into action everything they think, not you. The order of the knights or the Dacians has long since died out.

               Hook took two steps toward him and without warning I punched him in the stomach and then one in the face. Adrian lifted his head slightly and spat blood and looked at them with the same smile on the stage.

            - Are you smart enough? Hook asks. Unless you know I have enough. Now tell me where the last bomb is.

             - You only have. You will only waste your time in vain, and time will end and the world will be in total chaos.

            - You bastard, said Hook, who immediately hit him again. Where's the last bomb?

            - Tell me, David, are you going to let this one beat me? We who have known each other for many years.

             - If that's how I can make you tell the whole truth, yes. Our past has nothing to do with us. You signed your own sentence when you decided to betray us.

            - Shall I betray you? I am trying to do something in this country, those who lead us are making fun of us, and you who say that you have not been able to do anything for a long time.

             - You i***t, Hook said. This organization worked in the shadows, because if we always intervened, the people would have relied on us every time. But now we will do the right thing. Listen to your friend and tell him where the bomb is.

            - What do you want to say? David asked.

           The next moment, the two left the room heading for Helga, leaving Adrian laughing alone, and ordered to be guarded by two well-armed soldiers. Helga began to search the world map and finally found the place Albert was talking about. The location was the Arctic Ocean and it was impossible to dive into it.

          - It's a big deal, Helga said. Even if we get there in time, we won't be able to stop the bomb in time.

          - There must be something we can do, David said. We can't let him win.

          - This is a fight that is impossible to win…

          - Helga, tell me what damage will happen if your bomb explodes?

          - If we looked at this graphic and took into account the depth of the ocean, the explosion would not cause you much damage, but the waves produced by the explosion could reach Greenland.

           - But can we take his word for it? Mihaela asks. I mean, we don't know exactly how deep the bomb is. Can't we find out this detail Helga?

           Helga walked away from them and began to look for solutions. In the meantime, they were trying to find solutions so that they could lend a helping hand as soon as possible if the damage was much greater than they thought. Helga soon informs them that she has contacted a ship that was near the location and they will find out exactly where the bomb was and if they can give them a helping hand.             - And that's not all. With the destruction of the glaciers, huge waves will appear that will continue to flow, they will be flooded.

           - I need to talk to Adrian. There must be something, said David.

           - Go, but I don't think your situation is changing, said Mihaela.

           David was so nervous that he was going to hit him hard, he knew Mihaela was right, but she had to make him cooperate. He couldn't let that be the end. Adrian was quietly in his chair with his eyes closed, and when David entered the room he began to smile, as if expecting his visit.

          - What do you want now? I just told you where the bomb was.

          - Tell me how to defuse the bomb. Millions of lives are in danger.

          - Seriously? I didn't know, Adrian said sarcastically. Do you really think I care about that? Life is short, you live and then you die.

          - Yes, life is short, but what you do is shorten it even more. Tell me how to defuse the bomb.

           - Let me ask you something. Those who told you exactly where the bomb is, told you what the bomb looks like? Did you think I could do a good thing and not what you think?

           - Making a m******e is not a good thing, David said, hitting him.

            - You may think that if I killed one or two people and got to the top of the enlightened organization, I'm a bad man, but you have no idea what I'm doing," Adrian said after spitting blood.

            - Then tell me what you think you're doing? I understand why you killed the mobster, but why did you kill Victor and Vlad? Why do you want to destroy the world?

            - I told you why I killed Victor, there was something that had to be done, and if Vlad were to be left alive, he would become one of mankind's greatest enemies. The former head of the Illuminati wanted to control him, to bring back the times when the great name Vlad Dracu was to be feared. Maybe it was just a clone but it was about to become that Vlad, so I had to take the reins.

            - In any case, now nothing can be done and you will pay for everything done, but it does not add a m******e to the list. Tell me how to stop the bomb.

          - It can't be stopped, Adrian said. When the clock strikes 3 pm today, the bomb will explode and nothing can stop it.

          - For God's sake, why did you do that?

         - Call me David. What is happening today with glaciers? Do you think that the leaders of this world care that because of global warming, glaciers are melting?

         - Is that what this is about?

        - About that and everything around us. We only know how to destroy, to take advantage of mother nature, of everything around us and that's how we got to where we are now.

         - Adrian, if you help us find a solution to stop the boimba or to do it in such a way that it doesn't do much damage, I promise I won't leave things like that. We will do what should have been done a long time ago.

         Adrian thought about his proposal and came to the conclusion that it would be ideal to help him, at least for a while. Followed by Adrian and the two guards, David led them to the operating room where he found his two colleagues and Helga who were puzzled. David told them that Adrian had agreed to find a solution to prevent a bigger disaster. It was two hours before the time of the explosion and they accepted any solution in this case.

         - As I told David, this is a bomb you can't stop.

        - I don't think you could have made a bomb without a turning point, Hook said.

        - Sure. But it could be a solution to reduce the range of the explosion.

         - Which? David asks.

         - You could raise the bomb from the water at a high enough altitude, where it can explode without doing any damage.

           - What do you think Helga, can we do that?

          - I don't know what to say, David.

         - Or I have another idea. Do you still have the other bombs?

         - Yes. Why?

         - This is a variant I think is much easier to achieve. We can divide into eight equal parts and connected in a circle ten meters apart and we will synchronize the explosion at 30 seconds away from the main one…

       - That way the waves created by this circle can counteract the huge wave coming from your main dove, Helga said, interrupting Adrian.

         Helga quickly went to the computer to implement this solution through the program. If this were a good solution, it would mean saving the situation, because of the world… well there will be another fight they will give.
