Party
Rose
"Admit it, Scarlett," Blair commands.
Scarlet sighs before giving a shy smile. "Okay," she admits, "he's kinda pretty."
"He's got that romance novel stare," I correct, pointing my beer at her.
"So, where is he?" Blair asks.
"I have no idea" Scarlett shrugs, looking around the area.
"Use your psychic powers, Blair. Wait." Scarlett picks up an empty beer bottle and hands it to her. "A crystal ball." She grabs it and stares at her like she's seen a ghost. When she lets go she tells Scarlett. "When I touched you I saw a crow. Fog. A man..." she trails off, looking dazed before shaking her head. "I'm drunk! Nothing psychic about that."
Blair goes to get a refill leaving us too. We turn back around and see William. "Hi." He greets.
"I did it again didn't I?" Scarlet giggles.
"Do what?" I ask. She glares at me. I hold my hands up in innocent. "My bad! Nice to see you, William." He nods in acknowledgement as I walk off.
I see Noah, his steps indicating he's pretty angry. I frown before following him into the woods. Olivia Warner, Aaron's younger sister's, voice is loud. "Toby, Stop!" She yells.
"Hey, she said stop," Noah snaps, pushing Toby away from her. She hugs herself, stepping away from the tree she was pushed against.
"You know little Grey, you're getting on my last nerves." He walks to Noah about to punch him and when I try to stop him he says "I'm getting tired of you Grey sisters as well, 'The innocent one' and 'the perfectionist'."
He reaches towards his wrists to stop him but he grabs mine. His grip tightens, nails digging into my wrist. "Screw you, asshole," I snap before using my free hand to get in a good punch so that he left my wrist. His head snaps back from the punch, a painful groan soon following. I was so angry that I went off alone in the woods. I was at least thankful that Scarlett had taught me how to punch before.
Scarlett
Soon I found myself scrolling off with William.
"Hey, how are you?" He asked concerned.
"Oh, it was nothing much, just a headache"
"You know, you are kind of the talk of the town," I said hurriedly to change the topic.
"Am I?" he asked intrigued
"Mysterious new guy. Oh, yeah"
"Well you have the mysterious thing going on too...twinged in sadness"
"What makes you think I am sad?" I said, my smile slowly faded away
"Well we did meet in the graveyard"
"Umm..you don't want to know...it's, not technically party chit chat." I continued
"well I have never been very good at uh...party chit chat," I said encouraging me to open up.
I sighed and finally started to tell him the whole story " Last spring, Rose was at home and I was with my parents in a car and my parent's car drove off the bridge into the lake and I was in the back seat, somehow I survived and...they didn't. That's why I have nightmares and headaches" My heart sunk remembering the worst night of my whole life. I stopped and there was silence for a few seconds. I turned to see, William had stopped.
"It was a traumatic experience, I understand but you won't be sad forever Scarlett," He said sadly.
I nodded and seeing my expression he tried to change the subject and I was so thankful for it.
"I like Blair, she seems like a good friend and Rose, she is a good sister"
"Yup, Blair is the best friend in the world but Rose, she is not only the best sister, but she is also my best friend"
" and Aaron, he can't seem to take his eyes off us" he continued
" Aaron and I are friends since childhood that you start dating because you owe it to yourself to see if it can be more..." I drifted
"and..."
" and my parents die and then everything changed. Anyway, Aaron and I together, it wasn't...."
" Passionate," he said completing my sentence.
"no, it wasn't passionate," I said, and then his eyes started to become red.
" Hey, are you ok, umm your eye," I asked concerned
He rubbed his eyes and said"No no, umm..its nothing" he said trying to hide something and I was going to ask him about it when he just ran away.
I was trying to find him but then Aaron came up to me.
" Hey Scar, you said you needed some time alone, but you don't look so alone."
"No Aaron you don't understand..." I tried to explain
" It's ok Scarlett. You do what you have to do, but know that I still believe in us" and before I could stop him he went away.
William
I lost control and ran away, I had to apologize to her. I saw her talking to Aaron and could hear her conversation. When Aaron left her I was going towards her but Clary came up to me and started talking.
" Hey there you are, have you been down to the falls yet because they are cool at night and I can show you if you want"
" I think you have too much to drink. Clary, you and me it's not going to happen" I said and left. I made my way towards Scarlett.
"I was wondering who abducted you, but now I know," She said teasingly.
"Umm..is she like that with all the guys?"
"No, you are fresh meat"
Scarlett
I and William were happily talking when I saw Noah run off drunk into the woods. Typical Noah. I may drink but I don't act stupid while doing so.
William asked what's wrong. I told him it's my brother and excused myself.
"I'll get him," I said rolling my eyes. I began following him, leaves crunching from beneath my feet as I stomped through the woods.
"Rose!" Noah yelled. I ran to where the sound came from and Noah kneeled before something.
I ran up to him and squinted to make out what was in front of him.
"Oh my god, somebody help!" I screamed frantically. Rose laid on the wet leaves, blood oozing from her. Noah picked her up and we ran to get help. My breathing uncontrollably picked up, but I continued to follow Noah from the woods. "Somebody help!" I scream again. Everyone runs to Rose. "Call an ambulance!" Aaron yells.
"She's losing a lot of blood," Blair says, tussling a strand of her hair behind her ear.
Aaron runs to us and commands everyone to "Back off she needs some space!"
I look up and see William running away. Where's he going?!
Noah and I went to the hospital with Rose. The doctors that she has lost a lot of blood and she would need blood donation. Me being her twin and therefore my blood was the most compatible with hers. So I had to donate blood. By the end of the night, my eyes were beat red and my cheeks puffed like a chipmunk. I was also very exhausted from the blood loss in the donation.
May had already arrived in the hospital. So finally relieved I took Noah home so that we could change and get some sleep.
