Surprising Revelation

Scarlett

By the time I reached the hospital, I was drenched in my sweat and breathing heavily not from running but worry. I barged into Rose's room. 

"Hello s.." she started to say as I entered. 

I interrupted her with a hug. " Are you fine Rose?" I asked checking her all over. 

"Yes I am fine, are you ok what happened?" she asked her voice slightly strained. 

Seeing that she is fine I relaxed. "Thank God, you are fine, I was just worried."

"OK..." she said hesitantly

Now that my little hysterics was done, I looked at her and asked her "Rose do you remember who attacked you on the night of school party?"

She looked at me like I was insane and said, " Scar, you do remember that it was a what who attacked me, I mean it was an animal, that's what doctors said."

I desperately tried to tell her to remember." Yes, Rose, that's what doctors said, but what do you remember?"

"I don't remember much from that night or who attacked me," she said trying to remember.

Oh no, she doesn't remember anything about a vampire. Freaking hell, Herondale's must have done something with her mind. 

"Scarlet are you fine? You look pale" Rose said breaking my train of thought.

"I am fine Rose, you rest, we will get you out of this place tomorrow. I just need some air. I will be back" I said. I hurried out of the door and then out of the hospital.

William

Scarlett knows about Vampires. I never meant for her to get to know such important detail about me in such away. I run a hand through my hair nervously. I had wanted to tell her when the time was right. But now she knows and is terrified, for her sister. This is all because of Jace if hadn't hurt Rose, Scarlett would never have got suspicious. I know Scarlett wouldn't tell anybody about us. Maybe I should compel her to forget about vampires as I did with Rose, but then I would never be able to live with that guilt. 

I am going to kill Jace. Wherever he goes, there is misery for me. I used my vampire speed to reach home. I barged into the house and there he was drinking whisky leisurely. 

"Brother, did your bunny food poop on you? I can offer you a drink, not that you drink." He said smirking.

I ignored his banter and said, "Jace, Scarlett knows that we are vampires, and it's all because of your careless adventures."

"She guessed" he laughed, " I told you she was smart."

"Jace it's not funny, she is scared for her sister and that is because you hurt Rose. I am tired of cleaning up your mess. Her knowing is dangerous for her as well as us" I said angrily.

His expression turned serious and he took a step towards me. I was not scared of him.

"Brother don't underestimate me. Remember I am stronger than you. I can very well clean up my mess." he said threatening and vanished. 

I shook my head worriedly trying to think of how I am going to explain all this to Scarlett.

So Vampires can even wipe our minds. I started to soak everything in.

After the initial shock wore off, I understood there are a lot of things in this world that I am unaware of and why William wanted to keep it a secret. Also, William said that he didn't hurt Rose, it was his brother Jace. I want to believe and accept the truth, but I am a rational person, and I won't lie I am scared.

I was lost in thought when I heard a whoosh of air. I stood up immediately, ready to defend myself. Jace was standing in front of me. 

"So you know," He said staring into my eyes and it felt as if he was looking into my soul.

" Yes, I know that you both are vampires and yes I also know that you hurt my sister. So stay away from my sister and me." I said as boldly as I could, pushing my fear and hesitation deep inside.

" Don't worry, you won't have to remember it for much time. I will make it all go away," he said, coming towards me.

"Yes like you both took away my sister's memory of the attack. You can't because I won't let you." I shouted back at him.

He laughed

"Yes I will and you can't do anything about it." 

I started to move backwards and then I finally turned around and ran.

But I could not go even 5 steps, he was once again there in front of me.

I was now hyperventilating.

"Scarlett doesn't resist, It will be over very fast, and then you will forget everything about Vampires," he said reaching out for my face.

I tried to push him with all my strength but he didn't move an inch.

"Impressive but nothing in comparison to the strength of a vampire who drinks human blood," he smirked and took my head in his hands gently.

He stared straight into my eyes. I didn't want him to do this. I didn't want to be left unaware of the danger. I was terrified and it felt as if all the adrenaline and blood were flowing into my brain. One second Jace was standing there in front of me and the next I pushed him and he fell backwards. 

"What the hell" He whispered looking at me shocked. I didn't know what was happening and I didn't get time to think.

It felt as if all the blood and adrenaline was draining from my body. I felt very weak. My head started to pound and the world started tilting. I stumbled and took the support of the wall. Jace was there in front of me, asking me something and trying to support me. But I could comprehend what he was saying. The pounding in my head now became unbearable and the world was spinning unbearably. It felt as if my body was on fire. I couldn't take it anymore, my knees buckled and I started falling. It felt as if someone caught me before I fell and then the world went dark.
