"Vampire"

William

Scarlett was laying on my lap. She looked so beautiful even though she was a restless sleeper. It must be nightmares. I knew the attack on Rose was not by an animal...but it was by Jace. I told him to stay away from the twins. I am going to kill him when I get home. Hopefully Rose will not remember anything.

I was more worried about Rose because I knew Scarlett can take care of herself and beat anyone's ass. I knew she was very good at martial arts because I secretly have been seeing her workout sessions...she is really good but a vampire was another thing. Rose is not so strong and if anything happens to Rose, Scarlett would be devastated. Anyways Rose and I were becoming friends.

Though I need to be more careful to control myself, I slipped today and I am pretty sure Scarlett will guess I am a Vampire if it happens again. She is smart. After some hours, I left the hospital to beat some more sense into Jace.

Scarlett

In the morning I woke up in the hospital to see that William was not around. I was a little disappointed but anyways I was going to see him the school. 

I truly and utterly hated hospitals, it reminded me of the time when I woke up in the hospital after the accident to see hundreds of beeping machines attached to me. I still remember Aunt May hovering and her hesitation when I asked her "Where are mom and dad?".

I shook my head and forced myself to come out of that reverie. I got up from the shitty couch of the hospital and went to see how Rose was doing. Rose looked better than last night, some colour had come back to her pale skin. Not wanting to wake her up I started to go when I noticed her eye twitching. She woke up with a jerk, she looked petrified. 

"Hey, hey, calm down, everything is fine Rose, it's only me Scarlett."

She calmed down when she saw me. She tried to speak something for a long time but wasn't able to get it out of her mouth. Finally, she croaked a single word " Vampire " and passed out.

I froze. What seriously a Vampire?? Could it be a vampire who attacked Rose? Do vampires even exist?. Or maybe Rose is still in shock. That seemed the most rational option. 

I went to call the nurse. She said that Rose needed rest and that they will be keeping her overnight but she could be discharged tomorrow. I called May to tell her that I was coming home to get ready for school. 

"Hey, May I am coming home to get ready for school and the nurse said that Rose is recovering and can come home tomorrow."

"Yes I am on my way there, to check on her," she said

" Ya sure, bye"

" Wait Scar, Noah went early to see Rose in the hospital, he would be reaching there, do me a favour and make sure he is not stoned." 

I chuckled "Yes will do."

I hung up the phone.

Taking one look at Rose I went out of the hospital room and saw Noah coming. I hurried up to him.

"Hey sis, How is Rose?" He asked hugging me. 

"She is as ok as she can be, we can take her home tomorrow."

He smiled and said, " That's good." He stared at me for a few seconds and then said: "You look tired sis".

"And you looked stoned bro," I said joking back. 

" Not you too Scar, Rose is enough", I held my hands up in surrender. 

" Ok fine, I know it's your way of coping up but I am giving a pass for a few more days and if your facade still doesn't stop, I am going to kick your ass," I said seriously. 

His expression turned serious too and he nodded, " Yes don't worry, bye meet you in school" 

I said bye and went home. Noah is a good brother, he is into drugs but I sorta understand, parents dying is not easy to cope up with. He is closer to me then to Rose, maybe it's because I don't always pester him about being stoned.

School

When I reached school, I saw William sitting on the Bench and started to go towards him. But before I could reach him, Aaron approached me. 

"Hey Scarlett, how is Rose ?"

"They are keeping her overnight for observation but she can come home tomorrow."

"That's good. Rose is lucky that she is ok" 

"Yeah, with all these talks about missing campers," I said remembering the news.

"Did she say what kind of animal it was that attacked her?" he asked

"She said it was a vampire and then passed out," I say sceptically.

"What?? ok, that's weird" he says surprised.

"Yes very, but I think she was in shock, but I will ask her the whole story tomorrow.", still not sure if to ignore my conscience telling me that it could be a vampire.

"So what's up with the new guy?" He changed the subject motioning towards where William is sitting.

"Look, Aaron, you are a really good guy and a great friend. The last thing I want to do is hurt you..." I trailed of biting my lip.

"It's ok, anyway I have practice. Take care," he says.

" You too, " I say awkwardly and turn to the bench where William was sitting.

I stare at the empty spot. He is not there anymore. Why does he always vanish? and what is this whole deal with vampires? I shrug and go to class, making a mental note to search more about vampires on the net when I reach home

Lunch

I did not see William for the entire day in school. All of us girls were sitting at the table except Rose obviously, I felt her absence very much. I thanked God for the hundredth time today for Rose being okay. It's not that I believed in God but for Rose, I was willing to do anything, even if it thanking the air.

"Scarlett, how is Rose?" Bonnie asked.

"She is okay physically but she was very scared when she woke up for a few seconds this morning." 

They nodded and Clary being optimistic of us all changed the subject.

"So are you guys coming to the comet tonight?"

" My Gran said it was a sign of bad luck, last time it occurred, many people died."

We all giggled at Blair's gran's outlandish tales.

I wanted to invite William but he was nowhere to be found, so I picked up my phone and messaged him.

" Hey, where are you?" I typed.

Two minutes later, a reply came. I picked up my phone again, it said, "Sorry I went home early, I was not well." 

I was worried. "What happened? Are you ok?" I replied. 

"Yes" came a short reply.

"Scarlett" I heard someone shouting my name. I looked up and found that both Clary and Blair were staring at me and smiling smugly.

"Who are you chit-chatting with," Caroline asked smirking. I think she had her guesses.

"William. He was there yesterday in the hospital until...well until I fell asleep."

"Woah Scar...William, so what happened, did you have s*x?" 

"Ewww, seriously Clary" Blair making a very funny face.

I just laughed, this was typical Clary. Clary was a good person, she seemed shallow from the surface but she is actually a very good and optimistic friend. I needed that, I was Sarcastic and rational but that came with its downsides. I was very often a pessimist.

"No Clary, but we did kiss...but today in the morning he was there but then it's like when he saw me, he went away, and now he is saying he is unwell. So maybe I will go and give him a visit."
