Tracers of Time

Tracy was shocked looking at the boy infront of her. While Nathan smiled at her revealing his dimples on both cheeks and still extending his hands trying to formally know her.

For a moment, Tracy was still stuck looking at Nathan's eyes. They are gorgeously carved by God. Instantaneously, after a few seconds of Tracy's admiration to Nathan's handsome face, Tracy remembers the incident early this morning that snapped her back to reality.

"You?! What are you doing here?! Isn't it enough ruing my first morning in Grade 6? What do you want, Jerk?" - Furiously asked Tracy to Nathan.

"Woah! Easy babe! I'm Grade 6 too you know and the teacher said that this is my seat. So, we're now seatmates throughout the year, isn't it fun? ?" -Teased Nathan.

"No, it isn't! This is the worst day of my life!" - Tracy replied.

"Wait! So, he is "The Jerk" that you are talking about who ruined your morning a while ago, Tracy?" - Jared clarifies to Tracy.

"Yes. He is the water-sprinkler-cold-hearted Jerk who makes me soaked in water a while ago in the pathway early this morning." -Tracy emphasis to Jared while still throwing deadly gazes to Nathan.

"Hahahahaha! ?" - Jared laughs so hard on a manly voice then fist bumped Nathan who's smiling too himself. "Bro!" - Jared added, acting like a tough and manly boy.

After seeing Jared's weird and change of character upon seeing Nathan. Tracy is bewildered and she looked at Jared in a confused manner. Signaling Jared to what's going on with Jared's change of sides.

Jared, who immediately understands what Tracy means by her looks. He straight away grabs Tracy's left arm, excuses themselves from Nathan and go out from the class.

"What's going on, Jared? Why did you suddenly become manly and tough in front of that jerk, Nathan? Tell me." -Tracy's question to Jared in a demanding voice.

"Woaaah!" - Jared sighed. "Alright. Do you still remember that guy that I had a crush on when we were still in Grade 4?" -recall Jared to Tracy.

"That guy who helped you when you had a bicycle accident before? Who only visited Principal Young's house every summer?" - Remembered Tracy.

"Yes!" - Affirmed Jared.

"So, what about him?" - Tracy asked.

"That guy was Nathan. He doesn't know that I'm a gay. Please help me, Tracy. Once Nathan finds out that I am a gay, who knows what will happen to me if he tells my father about it." - Concerning said by Jared.

Hearing this from Jared, Tracy's anger changed into sympathy. She knew what will happen to Jared once his family finds out his true gender preference. His father will definitely beat him to death.

Looking at the pitiful eyes of Jared. She knew exactly what he meant. She needs to forget her revenge to Nathan. This maybe a punch to her pride but Jared is more important to her than that.

After a big sigh, she finally decided to forget her vengeance towards Nathan.

"Alright, alright! I will just do this because you are my best friend." - Tracy acknowledged.

"OMG! Thank you, thank you so much girl!" - Jared happily thank Tracy while hugging her.

"I know, I know! But only this time. If he messed up with me again. I won't promise to punch his face next time." - Warned Tracy.

"I understand! ?" - Assured Jared and they went back to the classroom.

Inside the classroom, Tracy immediately noticed Ryan looking at her. His eyes were now different from what they are used to be. They were mischievous and evil before, but now, it feels odd to see a different aura in his eyes - like jealousy and the like. This aura in his eyes reflected a small pain in her heart but she brushed it off and look at Nathan, who is waiting for their return.

"You're back! So, are you ready to tell me your name? ?" - Nathan's query to Tracy while smiling.

For a second, Tracy look at Jared who is now signaling her to speak up. Then, she faced Nathan reaching his hand to do a handshake.

"Okay. I'm Tracy and I'm not friendly. Mind your own business and I will mind mine. Get it?!" - Sassily replied Tracy.

"Geez! You're frank! But I like you. I hope to know you better." - Nathan's remarks.

Hearing this, Tracy's eyes widen and her heart pumps five times more than before. She freezes like a tree and don't know how to respond to Nathan's boldness. Though she never notices her blushing cheeks. To hide her real emotions to Nathan, she just lowered her eyebrows and pulled them closer together. Her eyes bulge and her lips tighten and curl inwards.

"Jerk!" - The only word Tracy's mouth produces to express her response.

"Hehehe ? You look cute when you make your face like that. ?" - Nathan's reaction.

Feeling embarrassed and confused why her body acted differently around Nathan. Tracy just turn her attention to Mr. Benson who just arrived from the Admin office to fetch some student information documents.

"Alright, class. You are all now formally my students for this school year. You can talk to me anytime to anything you want except convincing me to change your grades. Those are earn credits." - Mr. Benson confirmed while the whole classroom fill with laughter.

"To start the class this morning, and since we have some new students joining our Glenwood Elementary School family, let's make a small introduction to everyone. Let's start at the back. Mr. Young, please do the honor." - Mr. Benson commanded.

"Hi, everyone! I'm Nathan Young. I'm very pleased to meet you and thank you for accepting me in your class." - Nathan introduces himself while most of the girls giggles in excitement. He is indeed gorgeous and can easily melt someone's heart.

Looking at Nathan, Tracy couldn't help but to silently mesmerize. Nathan's charismatic smile and his angelic attitude truly makes you think how bias the creator was.

Little did Tracy noticed, while her attention is focused completely to her daydream about Nathan. Nathan was trying hard to tell Tracy that it's her turn to speak and introduce herself.

She just snapped out of her imagination when a very manly voice suddenly speaks,

"Hey drumstick, speak up!"

Tracy immediately returns to reality and turns her head to the direction of the voice. It was Ryan, emotionless facing her.
