WILD CAT.......

Cara's recent change in behaviour had Greg on an emotional rollercoaster. He couldn't pinpoint exactly what had changed, nor could he figure out what she was planning. It seemed as though he could see her at every corner of the house. The mere thought of her made his heart lodge in his throat. His fingers twitched as he remembered all the stunts she had been pulling over the past three weeks, and he drew in a sharp breath. Ordinarily, he would have been the envy of every man alive, if only his father wasn't his father. Cara had developed the habit of sniffing him every evening after he returned from work, gradually forcing him to think with his heart instead of his head. Greg shook his head, trying to drag himself back to reality when someone knocked on his office door. "Come in," he said nonchalantly. His personal secretary stepped inside. "Sir, it's time for the meeting. The board of directors is waiting." Without sparing him a glance, Greg replied, "I'll be there shortly," waving him away. It didn't take long before the secretary rushed back again, only to meet Greg stepping out of his office. Greg frowned impatiently. "What is it again?" he snapped, clearly displeased. His secretary instinctively stepped back. "Sir, I'm sorry to bother you. Miss Gracie is here. She's demanding to see you and is causing a scene outside the building. She refuses to leave because security won't allow her inside." Greg looked at him coldly. "Good." His voice was calm, but his eyes were icy. "If she mistakenly enters this building, every one of you is fired." Without another word, he strode towards the conference room. The secretary sighed loudly before running back to the entrance. "This is serious," he muttered. "I still don't understand why a beautiful woman like Gracie would cling to a man who despises her this much. Women are truly mysterious." Shaking his head, he hurried off to warn the security guards. Greg spent the rest of the day locked inside his office after the meeting, avoiding Gracie completely. He felt mentally exhausted by the entire situation and knew he would probably lose his temper if he saw her again. His life had become unnecessarily complicated. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he sighed deeply. Three hours passed. Then four. Finally, he decided it was time to go home. He had deprived himself of enough sleep already. Rising from his chair, he slowly made his way downstairs towards the company's garage, where his driver was waiting. At that moment, he silently appreciated having someone else behind the wheel. But instead of a peaceful departure, he was greeted by a shocking sight. Gracie was perched on the rear of his car as though she belonged there. "What in the world is the meaning of this?" Greg demanded. She gracefully stepped down. His expression instantly turned cold. Every trace of warmth vanished from his face. "I'll ask again... what are you doing here?" Without hesitation, he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her away from his car. Once they were several feet away, he released her and calmly instructed his driver, "Clean the spot where she touched." He pulled out a handkerchief, wiped the hand that had touched her, then threw it into a nearby bin before looking back at her. Gracie felt utterly humiliated, but she swallowed her pride. "Can't I come here?" she asked, her eyes already glistening with tears. "Why do you keep treating me this way? You humiliate me because of that dead witch!" Her body trembled with anger. Greg took another step back. "You should never have come here. I hate women like you the most. Your presence only irritates me. Have some dignity and leave." His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument. Gracie sensed the danger in his eyes, yet her determination to win him over refused to die. She slowly walked towards him. "I can be anything you want," she whispered. "Just tell me." She smiled. "I can become the woman you loved so much. What was her name again? Ah... Cara." She reached out to touch his chest. Greg caught her wrist midway. Without warning, he spun her around several times before letting go. Gracie screamed as she crashed onto the ground. By the time she regained her balance, Greg's car had already disappeared through the gate. Groaning in pain, she dusted herself off and entered her own car. "So much humiliation... all because of one man." She rubbed her sore arm. "He's lucky I love him. If it were anyone else, they'd already be behind bars." She looked at the hand Greg had held and kissed it dreamily. "I'll forgive you this time, Greg." Meanwhile, Greg leaned back against the seat during the drive home. He knew one day he and Cara would truly become husband and wife in every sense. He was willing to wait. He would never force her or take advantage of her. He wanted her to choose him willingly. Still... He already wanted her more than he cared to admit. He believed with all his heart that one day she would accept him. Unfortunately, Cara didn't believe love could ever exist between them. He did. Greg managed to keep his composure until he stepped inside the mansion. The moment he entered, he froze. His mouth fell slightly open. His heartbeat quickened. Every emotion crashed into him at once. Oblivious to everything around him, he watched Cara stroll past the table beside the sofa, pick up a glass of wine, and empty it in one gulp before pouring herself another. "What kept you?" she asked with a faint smile. She swayed slightly before stopping directly in front of him. Greg forced himself to look away and surveyed the room. Candles flickered across the table, filling the room with a warm glow. Red roses were scattered across the floor, and three bottles of Merlot wine rested nearby. One of them was already empty. He looked back at her and leaned closer. "You reek of alcohol," he said quietly. Cara smiled mischievously. There was a dangerous sparkle in her eyes. She walked towards him with slow, graceful steps, her hips swaying naturally while her loose hair danced around her shoulders. Greg inhaled sharply. She wore a short red gown that hugged her figure beautifully. He quickly looked away, trying to regain control of himself. She had completely caught him off guard. Cara closed the remaining distance between them and gently brushed her lips against his before reaching for the buttons of his shirt. Greg immediately became alert. Carefully but firmly, he guided her hands away. She looked into his eyes. "You want me, don't you?" she asked softly. "Why are you holding back?" Hurt flashed across her face before she bit her lower lip. The wine had clearly clouded her judgment. Her thoughts drifted back to the woman she had seen with Greg weeks earlier. Ever since then, she hadn't been herself. Greg let out a slow breath. "You should tread carefully, tigress," he warned. Cara smiled faintly and stepped closer again. Greg had never struggled this hard to ignore his own feelings. Closing his eyes briefly, he took a deep breath before opening them again. "That's enough," he said gently. "You need some sleep." Without another word, he carefully lifted her into his arms and carried her upstairs towards her bedroom. His entire body was tense, but he refused to take advantage of her while she wasn't thinking clearly. Curled comfortably against him, Cara rested her head on his shoulder and absentmindedly fidgeted with the open buttons of his shirt. "Behave, Cara," Greg said, trying to sound stern. She ignored him completely. He hurried into her room, gently laid her on the bed, then stepped back with a long breath. "That was close," he muttered to himself.
