Auction tower

After I get out of the dungeon, forget about a decent meal. Although I have gold coins with me, I didn’t get the chance to convert it to money so I can only return to my last resort, instant noodles. I take a bath and sleep soundly after. It was a long time since I sleep in a soft bed. I sleep like a kid for almost 14 hours. After that, I search on the internet about the online market. It was easy to find and what I see as I browse through the website amazed me. The chimera’s blood could actually sell so much. It was around $1,000 for a bottle. Its main use is for potion brewing or alchemy. Darn it, I just lose a lot of money by not taking its blood back with me. Not to mention I didn’t have any bottle with me at that time. The thing about looting a monster is their whole body can’t be brought out. As their body will disappear after one hour inside the dungeon. However, if you cut their body parts, it will become a separate item and it won’t be absorbed by the dungeon after one hour. That is also why storage items are expensive. There are so many things you can bring in and bring out of the dungeon and it was convenient. I look at the policy for buying and selling things. For buying, it was convenient as they could deliver it through mail to your front door. For selling it is where it gets tricky. The things you want to sell need to be verified by an appraiser. There is no way that the appraiser will notice me if I brought an item to them. The only option is by visiting the offline market. It was called the auction tower because most of the time, they held auction over there. The process of selling items over there is fully automated which won’t be a hindrance to me. I guess I should do that. Changing my clothes, I took the bus to the auction tower. Although the driver didn’t see me getting on the bus, as a lawful citizen, I still paid for the bus fare using my card. Arriving at the auction tower, I was amazed. The tower is actually made out of metal entirely. Entering the building, I saw a crowd bustling inside. There is an information desk, reception table, selling and buying counter, all of which catering to the needs of a dungeon diver to buy and sell things. Of course, I couldn’t use their service due to my nature of being ignored. I headed to the middle of the tower where there is a spiral pillar. This is an automated buying and selling service. For those who are more experienced with the market, they can use this service to quickly buy and sell items. Of course, I am not experienced but there’s no other option for me than using the automated service. I walked to one of the counters. It was like a desktop pc, the only difference that its body is stuck to the pillar. I entered my bank card and it asked for my fingerprint. After filling in the details, I am recognized as one of the users of the auction tower. I choose the option to sell items and a small hatch opened like an oven from beside the screen. I put all of the gold coins that I found and close it. It recognizes the gold coins that I put inside and asks whether I want to sell it directly to the tower or auction it. I choose to directly sell it since I need the money right now. The whole process is very quick as less than five minutes later I receive a notification from my phone that a sum of money has been deposited to my account. I also choose to sell the items that I have found from the body of a Lion’s heart guild member. I choose to sell the item anonymously since I am afraid that it could be tracked down back to me. I just didn’t want to be involved in unnecessary trouble. The total money from the gold coins is $12,500 from selling 250 grams of 24k gold at $50 per grams. It was a large amount of money for me but it would be trivial if it was divided by 50. If Lion’s heart 50 men party clears it, they will only get $250 for each person. I guess the reason they choose to clear the dungeon is for the experience, not the riches. The most surprising thing for me is that I actually got $20,000 from selling the equipment that I looted from Lion’s heart men. I guess I got lucky there. Or it is because I put additional stats on my luck. With the money in hand, I wanted to buy a storage item but as I browse using the terminal, I found that the price is expensive. The cheapest one cost $200,000 and that was only for 1-meter square storage. I guess I still have a long way to go if I wanted to get a storage item. I can only wish my luck can get a storage item for free. Since I can’t get that storage item, I look for Fairy’s wing. A piece of fairy’s wing actually costs $50,000. What in the world is happening? It is so expensive because someone is manipulating the market for sure. After all, a life-saving item should worth more than a normal consumable. I saw a potion that could instantly heal your health costing only $1,000 for mid-level ones. High-level ones cost up to $25,000 and the cheapest one can be bought for $100. I buy 10 of the cheapest one just in case I need it. It comes in a round glass flask and filled with red-colored liquid. This might be useful in critical condition. I checked out the weapon section only to find there are tons of it available on the market. The ones sold are mostly common ranked. As for one like the fire sword, they are a little bit rarer and their price is around $100,000.  It was funny at how my eyes seeing the value of $100,000 isn’t surprised at all. Is it because I have been exposed to the real world? Like a frog that managed to get out of the well and see the wide blue sky? If it was the old me, hearing that the weapon I am using is $100,000 I will get the impulse to sell it and live freely until the money runs out. Right now, I didn’t even think that $100,000 is a lot at all. The things that I want to buy, the cheapest storage item is $200,000 so I think my value for money has been twisted too. Another reason for me to come today is to buy some information about the dungeon. Part of the dungeon is controlled by the government. Some fall under the jurisdiction of big guilds and some are free to enter. I am trying to see if some E rank dungeon information is for sale. The information varied including the monsters, map, and possible rewards. The information for E rank dungeon starts from $10,000. I couldn’t believe that it was so profitable. If a lot of people buy the information, the profit gained from selling the dungeon information may exceed the profit of going into the dungeon itself. Truly this world has changed and everything has revolved around the dungeon. I bought information about E rank dungeon near my area. I didn’t bother about the F rank dungeon since there’s no point in me going inside them. The experience will be low and the rewards won’t exceed the E rank dungeon. I bought 3 dungeon information for $30,000. That was the amount that I never imagined I would spend so casually before. Now I’m only left with $1,500 money. I was looking at the skill book section and it was something impossible for me to buy. Even the cheapest skill book was sold starting at $30,000 and that was for useless F rank skill like 《massage》and 《rope tie》. A useful skill like E rank《Power strike》 is in the $1,000,000 range. I decided to eat a sumptuous meal to treat myself. I went into an all you can eat restaurant where I serve myself to a feast. I didn’t forget to pay with my card and strangely enough, as long as I am eating there on my seat, no one really cares about me. I wonder how others see me. Will they see a floating plate or the plate also gets ignored because of my skill? I could care less about that as I eat to my fill. Finished with my meal, I decided to return home and checked the information about the dungeon that I just purchased.
