Beautifully Whole - The End

Chapter 10 One year later. Graduation week. University of KwaZulu-Natal, Westville campus. Big tents, parents ululating, photographers shouting "R200 per pic!" Zamo was not just graduating with her degree. Beautifully Broken Cosmetics had just hit *R150,000* sales. They moved from res kitchen to a small container in Umlazi. 12 colors. 3 employees. Stocked in 8 salons. Khethelo walked up to her, tears in eyes but makeup still intact — she was the CMO after all. "Zamo, look," she whispered, showing phone. Email: _"We would like to stock Beautifully Broken in 20 Clicks stores across KZN. Meeting next week."_ Zamo screamed so loud her grad cap fell. Ayabongwa cried, Lindokuhle fainted (dramatically), Nomkhocy shouted, "WE ARE RICH RICH NOW! NOT RES RICH!" On stage, Zamokuhle Zungu. Degree complete. Business owner. Heart healed. In the crowd: her mother crying, her girls screaming her name, Minenhle and Olwethu holding a big banner "OUR CEO" — misspelled but made with love. And Bandile. In a suit. Holding flowers — not cheap Shoprite ones. Real roses from Woolies. And a small box. After ceremony, he pulled her aside under the jacaranda tree where Lwandle once left her crying. "Zamo," he said, "One year ago you were crying here. Today you are graduating as a boss." Zamo smiled, "You remember that?" "I remember everything about you since first year," he said, opening box. Not a ring — a necklace. Gold, with small letters: Z. "I am not asking you to marry me — we are 22, we are still babies. I am asking you to be my partner. In life, and if you allow, in business too. I want to help you open that warehouse you keep talking about." Zamo put it on, tears finally falling but happy ones. "Yes. To both." Far away, Lwandle watched from parking lot. He didn't come close. He just watched the girl he thought would wait forever, glowing, surrounded by love, not needing him. He posted that night, no picture, just words: _"Some people you lose because you were too stupid to know what you had. She is shining without me. And she deserves it."_ Zamo didn't see it. She was blocked. She was busy. That night, 5 girls in one res room for the last time — boxes packed, container ready, future big. Khethelo raised a cheap champagne, "To being broken!" Lindokuhle: "To being beautiful!" Ayabongwa: "To being rich!" Nomkhocy: "To never waiting for boys again!" Zamo, looking at her sisters, her degree, her necklace, her future: "To being beautifully broken — because broken is where we started, but whole is where we are going." They clinked, laughed, cried, danced in that small room that saw all their tears. Outside, Durban lights. Inside, 5 girls who turned heartbreak into empire. THE END
