AUTHOR'S POV AT THE HOSPITAL The doctor finished and stepped away from Phyllis. He had first cleaned the wounds, flushing dried blood from the deep scratches and irrigating puncture marks caused by the sharp teeth. Several of the bites had severely broken skin that required stitches. He worked in silence, suturing where flesh had torn and applying antiseptic creams that stung despite the anesthetic.
