"Who's that Wilma?" Lea asked that made Leylah hide Lea's phone screen from her as she put it on her chest. Lea scoffed and looked at Lea in her most serious reaction.
"She's...she's nothing," She answered Leylah as she typed some words in her chatbox without looking at Lea. It's as if she's in a hurry to inform someone about something.
"Is she that important compared to me?" Lea insisted that Leylah smiled at her.
"What made you think about that? Of course you're my best friend. Are you jealous? Since when?" Leylah replied between chuckles.
" I guess I'm just possessive of what is mine."
"My goodness! That is so gay!"Leylah laughed out loud because of what Lea made her feel.
"No silly, I am serious. Can't you see I'm not even laughing right now."
All right, all right, I can see it. What do you want to tell me?"
"I had a dream."
"I had a dream, too."
"Let me tell you mine first because it was more of a nightmare."
"Alright, go."
"Last night, I dreamt about a giant snake that attacked me from behind."
"Wow, too much fascination from watching fantasy shows will really trigger you to dream about those things." Leylah answered in amazement, her eyes still on her f*******: messenger.
"You’re not listening anymore. Maybe you got another best friend out there who’s more important than me.” Leylah glanced and smiled at her because of what she’s feeling.
“You’re the one I chose to be with right now and you even tell me that? Oh, c’mon Lei…”
“But you’re too busy chatting with someone I don’t even know and that really bothers me ever since you borrowed my phone.”
“Alright, I guess I will not have to borrow your phone again because you’re telling me these things.”
“No, silly. What I mean is, I hope you will not tell a lot of secrets.”
“You had secrets too, right?”
“I mean, I am patient. I can always listen and you will introduce those people to me. I am willing to know them because they’re your best friends, too.”
“Lei, I need space. I don’t mind your friends so I hope you will not meddle with mine as well.” Leylah said as she held Lea’s hand and put her phone there. It’s as if she returned her phone to her.
“Wait, are you done borrowing it?”
“Yeah. Sorry if I keep on borrowing your phone. I will try to never borrow it again.” She said as she started to walk away.
“Ley, wait! Please don’t do this!”
“Yeah, I mean it. I guess I was really so persisting with the things I don’t own. Don’t worry I will never borrow anything from you again,” Leylah smiled but Lea could see those weary eyes that she’s showing to her.
“Is Wilma very important that you will really exchange her for me?”
“What kind of question is that?”
----
In the distance, there were two friends who observed the whole scene while the two friends were both arguing with each other.
" Go grab some popcorn.”
“Why?” Sophia asked while looking around.
“Just do what I want you to do, alright? Don’t be so stupid enough.”
Sophia frowned as she stomped her feet following what Eveelia asked. She grinned as she could see Lea and Leylah arguing not far away from where she’s sitting with her friends. It happened that most of them went somewhere and her die-hard fan Sophia was left with her.
“Here,” Sophia shoved a bucket of popcorn in her hands.
“Thank you, sweetie.” She replied while grabbing a handful and shoveling into her mouth as she looked in the direction of Lea and Leylah.
“Don’t tell me you’re looking at both of them.”
“Don’t spoil the fun. Just enjoy the view.” Sophia also followed the direction of the two friends.
“My goodness! Why do you even waste your time watching them? Are you becoming nuts or something?”
“Look who’s talking,” She said, still focused on the two friends while chewing a popcorn. She couldn’t help but grin.
I'll let you enjoy everything. I will let you be happy and comfortable being in the same air that we breathe but know this, your happy days will eventually come to an end, I'll make sure of it.
She could still remember her plans. She couldn’t believe that even before she’s starting it, things are going exactly what she planned without even exerting much effort.
"Why are you always watching them?"
"I know who put me in this mess."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"You know what, Sophia? I don't have time for stupid people, don't add up to them, please?"
"I was asking you to know something, okay? It's not being stupid. Have at least a little consideration to my name."
"Yup, I can't help it. You're the only 'Sophia' that has no idea of what's going on around the world, you know."
Sophia glared at her but she just grinned as she raised her eyebrows as a response. She went back to the scene where Lea and Leylah are arguing this time.
"I knew who set me up last time."
Sophia just looked at her as if she's expecting an answer from Eveelia. She chuckled because Sophia didn't ask about it anymore. Instead, she sighed as she smiled again.
"It was Lea who pretended to be a white lady, okay? Get it now?"
"Whoa, really? Oh my gosh!"
"Weird, right?" She grinned. Sophia moved to her closer as she whispered in her ear.
"What the hell? I still can't believe it! How did you know about it?"
"Like what I was telling you before, I am not Eveelia for nothing, dahling. I have my connections."
"My goodness we're only teens and you're being like that, like whoa…"
"Of course. There's nothing Eveelia can't do."
"And try to imagine, Lea Ratcher really did that to you? How could she? I mean, I never thought she could do it. She's just a weakling!"
"The only mistake I made was to overlook her as an ally more than an opponent."
"She's siding with Leylah, okay? Why aren't you taking revenge on her? That's what the mighty Eveelia always does, right?"
"She's a dear friend of mine before Leylah enrolled in our school. In case you forgot,"
"But then, you got suspended and you're even humiliated and laughed upon, all thanks to her." Sophia reminded her.
"Of course I am taking my revenge, you fool! I know Lea only did that crazy stuff because she considered Leylah to be her only 'trusted' friend." Eveelia said between laughs.
"Yeah. I got the point now."
"What? When? How? Why aren't you telling me about it?"
" Do I have to move if somebody is doing it for me?"
"I still don't get it,"
"I am expecting that you will not get it, don't you worry."
"C'mon, Evee...please spill the tea. I can't be able to sleep tonight if you will not share it with me."
"Your insomnia is not my responsibility."
"Please?"
"Okay, look at the two of them. They're inseparable these past few weeks but I don't know what in the world happened that they're arguing like crazy."
"And take note, Leylah is walking out from Lea." Sophia replied as she nodded.
"I can't hear what they're talking about right now. But it seems like the friendship is now on the rocks."
"That's what I've observed too." Sophia answered as she closely monitored the movement of the two at a distance.
"I guess the situation now is siding for me at last." She looked at them one more time as she grinned. She folded her arms. Sophia ate her popcorn from behind her, too. Looking at the two and observing them very closely as well.
----
Leylah ignored Lea's pleading despite her constant effort in talking to her. She pretended to not hear a thing. She wanted peace and it's her fault that she let Lea somehow invade her privacy.
Beforehand, she already messaged her boyfriend Walter about their secret meeting at their secret hideout again. It's on top of the science laboratory building that's too old, nobody wants to be there. It's so popular for being haunted and creepy that nobody ever dared to stay there for a long time.
However, the couple and their love being so strong, they were able to agree upon staying in this place because they knew that there would be no one else but them who could go there.
Besides that, Walter has the access to the keys, thanks to his friends who are working as maintenance in the surrounding area.
Before she even returned Lea's mobile phone, she already made sure that she erased everything including their conversations with her boyfriend. She also reminded him not to reply to any messages. She reminded him to just erase and avoid any messages because she's only borrowing phones from some of her friends in school.
She's already confident now. She glanced at the wall clock of their room. She told him to meet at exactly three in the afternoon at the same time and same place.
