Eryn POV
Emma left long ago, claiming she had to tend to Aaron. I couldn't keep from rolling my eyes. He is a grown man. He should be able to care for himself. I kept my mouth shut, but Cassie wasn't going to be so kind. If it weren't for my elbow in her side, she might have told Emma exactly what she thinks of Aaron.
Now, it is just Cassie, the kids, and me. Marcus and Natalie are fast asleep in the bed while Cassie and I speak in hushed voices. She begs me to stay, and I keep telling her no. My place is at Atticus's side, but I fear that I am saying it to convince myself. I catch myself looking at Marcus and Natalie, and I know I would do anything to protect them. Unfortunately, I know that means letting Atticus go on his revenge tour without me.
