Annalise's POV
When they said the alpha wanted to see me, I assumed he was nearby, not halfway across the state. In the cover of darkness, hiding within an unmarked SUV we made our way across pack lines, into enemy territory following a small, mountain road not shown on any map.
I try more than once to get the attention of the three large wolves who fetched me for their alpha, but the best response I received was barely more than an indifferent grunt.
