We pulled up to my mom’s house and there was a big moving truck and a crap load of bikers there. “What is going on here, I asked Derek when we got off the bikes. Where here to grab whatever they are willing to give you. We will just replace the rest of the stuff as we go. Then, suddenly, the front door opened, and my stepdad came out yelling. What is going on here? My brother walked forward and said, “Where here to get whatever you will give us of Tara stuff. Tara stuff? My stepdad wanted to say some more, but then my mom came out.
She ran over to me, threw her arms around me, and asked. Where are you staying? Are you good? Do you look good? And the last question is, are you going to school or not? I rolled my eyes and pushed her off me. It does not matter where I have been staying, and no, I am not going to school. It’s none of your business anyway. I am an adult now, and it doesn't matter. Can I get my stuff since you kicked me out of my house the day my dad died? My mom swallowed hard. I will get you what I feel you should have till you come to your senses and realize what you are doing. I wanted to hit her in the face, but instead I took a deep breath and said My stuff, please. Ok she said and walked away,
A few minutes later, they began to bring out the boxes and bags. The bikers all went up and started gathering and loading it up. After a while, my sister Tara came out and called me over. I walked over there, and she spoke. Mom said that's all you get to have. And please leave. Whatever I said, let’s go, boys. I said as I started to head to the bikes. We all got on and left.
We pulled up to my new house, and I was going to go to the U-Hall and help unpack it till my Deke asked me what I was you are doing. I am going to unload the truck, I said. No, Derek, you are going to go inside the house and look in the boxes and tell them where to put them. Oh, ok, I said, and I turned around to go inside like he said. Then he grabbed my hand and stopped me. I turned around, and our eyes met. I am not trying to be mean, he said finally. It's just out of place, I know you know what you want. And I know what I want. They're just not the same thing. But you get what you want this time, and I just have to go with it. I went to say something, but then my brother cleared his throat, and Derek dropped my hand. I forgot he even had hold of it for a minute. What is going on over here, he asked. Will Tara had gone to unload the truck, and I stopped her and explained to her how we needed her inside, said Derek. Oh, ok, said James. Let’s go, Sis, he said as he put his arm around my shoulders.
As we were walking in, my bro looked at me and said, “Can I ask you something? Yes, you can ask me anything I said as I looked back at him. We stopped walking, and he took a breather and asked, “Do you have something for Derek?” No, I tried to say with a straight face and hoping that I am not red right now. Ok, my brother said I believe you, and we walked inside. They were bringing the boxes up when I decided I was going to put them in the garage and go through them one by one later.
