I got home to my mom, and everyone was sitting in the living room. Good afternoon my mom said as I walked in. I walked over and gave my mom and the twins a hug. I am going to go shower, and then I will be back out to talk and hang out. Ok, they all said at the same time, and off to my room I went. I walked in, closed the door, and then sat on my bed. I took a couple of deep breaths. Then I got up, showered, and got dressed. I grabbed the door with my hand, took a couple more deep breaths, and then walked out to the living room.
We were sitting there, hanging out, watching TV, and talking about the last two days. Also, we talked about the next couple of weeks and what I must do to get ready. When I was all excited, there was a loud knock on the door. My stepdad got up and answered the door. Hunny, her brother, and some bikers are here to talk to Tara. Can they come into the house? He asked? I guess my mom said.
Only my brother, Derek, and my uncle Ted walked in. Tara, we all need to talk, he said. Can we meet at the table? He asked? “Yes, I said with a confused look on my face. My mom told the twins time to go play outside with their friends. That they did not need to be there for what's going on. My stepdad said he was going out to the garage and working on a few things. My mom, I, and the three of them just sat down to talk when there was a knock on the door.
My mom got up and opened the door. Two detectives were standing at the door. Hi, I am detective Henry, and this is detective Molly. We are here to talk to Tara Gray. Tara, my mom said the door is for you. It's two detectives. I was walking to the door, shaking and scared to know what was going on. The biker boys are here to talk to me about something, and now there are two detectives at the front door, and I don't see my dad anywhere. I have not seen him since last night. I started to get even more scared.
I’m Tara, I said in a shaky voice. Hi, I am Detective Henry, and this is Detective Molly. Where to ask you a few questions about your dad. Do you mind stepping outside so we can talk? Yes, I said as I stepped out and shut the door behind me. We are here to talk to you about your dad, Detective Molley said. Ok, I said again, my voice still shaking. Detective Henry looked at me and said, “First of are you ok? You sound a little scared. Yes, I said, and yes, I am scared. I have not seen my dad since last night, and now you guys are here asking me questions about it. Why shouldn’t I be scared? I have not seen my dad, and now you are here. Okay, just calm down said Detective Molly. We’re here to give you some bad news and ask you some questions.
Will at two Forty-five this afternoon, we found your father, and I am sorry to tell you this, but we found your father, and he was dead by the time we got there, said Molly. I felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest, and I could not breathe. I fell to the ground and started to cry like a baby. My mom came out and threw her arms around me and asked me what was going on. I said it’s, Dad. All I could get myself to say at that moment. Detective Molley explained to my mom what was going on. My mom pulled me closer and said, “You will be all right, you will be all right she kept saying as we rocked side to side.
Detective Molly bent down on the ground and looked at me. Do you know anyone who would want to hurt your dad? She asked me. No, I said, but I also don’t know much about his life in less it involves me. He keeps me out of everything. I asked What are you all going to do? We will be investigating and seeing if we can find out what happened to our dad. I would love to be updated the whole time, I almost demanded. Yes, said Detective Molly we planned to keep you updated as much as we can. As much as you can, I said mad. Yes, since you're not a police officer, their things sure we can tell you, but then their things we can’t since it's ongoing. I just took a deep breath and then said OK, is there anything else? I remembered that the boys were in the house, and I am going to smack info out of them. No, that's it, for now. If there's anything new to tell you or any other questions, I will call you, said Detective Molly.
I watched them leave and then turned around and ran into my house. What the flying monkeys happened to my dad? I screamed when I ran into the house. What they all said. I told them everything they said and then said, “Your turn. What do you know? My brother took a deep breath and pointed to a chair at the table, Please have a seat right there he said. No, I will not sit down right now. Now tell me what happened to my dad, don't make me ask again, I said. My brother took another deep breath and spoke. Dad has been missing since this morning, and we started to get worried. So, we called the police officers who are in our pocket. Don’t ask, he said. Then continued and asked them to track his phone. They gave us the address, and we went there. It was a banned building. I told half the guys to go back with Derek and half went throw the front with me. We end up finding Dad tied to a chair and beaten to death. It looked like he was tortured. We have no Idea why. All we know there was a note pinned to him. What did it say? I asked? He hands it over to me, and I read it.
To whom it may concern
Make this a lesson, and what will happen if you keep doing what we’re doing? I want you all to leave town and leave the good people of this town alone.
Sincerely the new bad ass in town
Who is the new bad ass in town I asked? As Derek walked over, and threw his arms around me and pulled me in for a hug. We don't know what he said in my ear. I pushed him away. I felt bad that I did, and I did not want to, but I am mad. I want to help you find out who did it, and I don’t care how long it takes to find out. You have college soon, my mom said. No, I screamed at her, I will not be going anywhere till I know who did this to my dad. I don’t know where you will be staying, she said. What do you mean, I live here, I said. You tell me I lost my dad and my place to live on the same day. I went to take a step over to her to smack her. but’s my brother got between us and said it was not worth it, sis. Not worth it, he kept repeating till I put my hand down and walked outside. My boys will be here to get her things, and then they will leave and will never come back.
Then my brother walked out of the house and walked up to me. He gave me a big hug. You got this, sis, and you always have a place with us. Meet me at the clubhouse. Ok, I said. I walked off to my car, got in, and drove away. I called my best friend Meridth, and I told her everything that had just happened. Where are you going now, she asked me. I am on the way to the clubhouse now, I said. Ok, I will meet you there, she said and hung up the phone. I pulled up to the clubhouse, and my brother was right behind me. He ran in a told them all what had just happened. I walked in, and they all shut up at once and looked at me. I am going to lie down, I said. Where can I go? I will show you where my brother said and walk you down the hall. He took me into an empty room and said, “This is your room from now on. Ok, I said as I walked in and looked around. All there was a desk and a bed. There's not much, but I will work on it, Derek said out of nowhere. It takes time, I said. Right now, I just want to be alone. Ok, they both said and walked out and shut the door. I locked it and lay on the bed. I started to cry my eyes out so hard that I fell asleep.
