“Penny was busy at her desk as Darque entered her office.”
“I just had a meeting with Bugs,” he said, “and everything seems to be on track for moving the operation to Europe.”
“I wish I could go with you, but I know that’s out of the question. In the condition I’m in right now, I’d be more of a liability than an asset.”
“I’m afraid you’re right,” he said. “Besides, I need you here to resolve any complications that might come up while we’re gone.”
“When do you leave?” she asked.
“I need to talk to Dave about lining up transportation for me, but I plan to depart tomorrow evening. I want you to check with the Kaiserslautern office and make sure things are progressing on that end.”
“I’ll take care of it,” she said reaching for the phone as he walked out.
