Chapter Seventy-Four
It was still snowing when Darque, Penny, and Bill arrived at work the next day, and it didn’t look like it was going to let up. Apparently Bill had seen enough of the white stuff to last him for a while because he seemed content to just get inside the facility and find a warm corner in which to curl up.
Bartow was waiting in Darque’s office when the Director entered, so that saved him the trouble of finding the Team Chief.
“Have we heard anything from Major Schilling yet?” Darque asked.
“He contacted us earlier this morning and said he’s on the ground and moving toward Switzerland.”
“Did he report any trouble?”
“He said that finding a route to the staging area may prove to be a bigger challenge than he thought, but he’ll be ready for the assault when planned. App
