Chapter Sixteen Darque left the lab and returned to his office to catch up on some more reports. The document on top of the stack was about Boris Panfilov. It was a collection of biographical data from a very laudatory obituary, but some of the material had to have come from other sources. Panfilov had attained the rank of Colonel in the KGB, and he was once head of the total immersion program. A small entry concerning his family noted that a daughter, Elena, had been born in 1953, and that the Colonel’s wife had preceded him in death. There was no mention of his being survived, or preceded in death, by a daughter. Darque highlighted the entry about the daughter, and laid the report aside.
