Chapter Seventeen
“So, what are your plans for tonight?” Betty asked.
“I thought I might go to the Hard Rock,” Nancy said. “I haven’t been there in a while, and it’s a good place to study people.”
“You and Carol should both enjoy yourselves while you can,” Betty said. “Our movements after the election will come under more scrutiny. All of us will have to be more guarded about what we say and do.”
“I’ll be glad when this is over,” said Nancy.
“Me too. Fortunately, things should soon start proceeding on their own. By then, circumstances will dictate most of our actions, and we’ll hopefully be able to cut back on our contacts with Kostchenko. However, we’ll still need his assets to complete this operation.”
“I wonder what Kostchenko would do if he knew a woman was running this operation
