Chapter Twenty-Four
Betty seemed to be preoccupied, but Nancy thought it must have something to do with the nervousness they were all beginning to feel as they approached the end of their assignment.
“Is something wrong?” Nancy asked.
“I don’t know,” Betty replied. “Something you said last night while I was half asleep bothers me, but I can’t remember exactly what it was. Try to recall everything you told me last night about what you had observed inside the Cafe, and tell me again.”
Nancy thought for a moment, and then began to repeat what she had told Betty the previous night about her sighting of Michaels inside the Hard Rock.
