Chapter Forty-Four
It was late by the time Darque got back to his office, but after Bill ran out of the room, Darque made some notes about the area he and Bill had reconnoitered. Darque had a feeling Bill had gone to check on Penny, and he planned to head to her room as soon as he finished up in the office, but as he reached to turn out the light, the phone rang.
“Darque,” he said.
“I’ve got good news and bad news,” said Yoda.
“Let me hear it all; you pick the order.”
“The techs are finished with the BMW, and they’re on their way back to their base.”
“I take it that’s the good news,” he said, “so let’s get to the bad.”
“The BMW is transporting a nuke.”
