Chapter Fifty-Eight He almost missed it. In the darkness, the surveillant watching the BMW was getting drowsy when he spotted a movement along the perimeter fence of the parking lot. The movement turned out to be a man on his hands and knees, searching the ground at the base of one of the poles supporting the chain-link fence. He apparently found what he was looking for, because he stood up, dusted off his pants, and walked to the driver’s side of the car being watched. He had two pieces of wheeled luggage and what looked like a briefcase, and after unlocking the car, he put the items on the back seat.
