Back at work the next day, Darque went to Penny’s office and found her busy scribbling notes on a pad of paper.
“I’m on my way to the lab to see if Doc found out anything more about the stuff in the box. Have you been able to debrief the girl you put against Michaels last night?”
“I sent Cheryl Hagen in and I think she was a hit in Michaels’s eyes. Her debriefing was pretty basic we met between her train ride from Michaels’ and her real job, but she had nothing out of the ordinary to report. Some of us have to get up early to do our jobs,” she said with a smile as she slid the report across her desk toward Darque.
