"Yes, doctor, thank you very much!" Nam Anh bowed to the doctor, took a deep breath to regain his composure, opened the door, and entered the room.
Gia Linh is lying on the bed, with medical equipment on her body, and a blood bag is slowly dripping. She wrapped a medical bandage on his forehead, and his pale white face looked very pitiful.
Nam Anh's breathing stopped, and he couldn't hold back his tears, looking at her friend. She didn't make a sound, just stood there quietly, her limbs shaking.
At this moment, a man knocked on the door of the room. Nam Anh looked dazed.
After a while, Nam Anh and the man stood on the terrace talking.
"What is this? Why are you lying here?" Nam Anh worriedly spoke up.
"When you called, I got to her house as fast as I could, but it was too late. She was unconscious in a pool of blood in the middle of the floor." The man replied.
"Who, who did it?" Nam Anh choked.
"I showed the finder the surveillance camera. But the security of the apartment complex said the camera has been down for a whole week for maintenance." The man said.
Nam Anh slammed his hand on the railing. She wiped away the tears that were unintentionally rolling down her face.
"Then report to the police, no matter how long it takes to find the killer." Nam Anh's voice is highly determined.
After hearing Nam Anh's words, the other man shook his head and spoke up. "Before she wakes up, she can't call the police."
When Nam Anh heard that, he turned his head to the other side and questioned him. "Why?"
The man hesitated for about thirty seconds before speaking. "When he arrived, he met Thanh Tung leaving in the apartment lobby."
At this time, Nam Anh whispered with a tense face looking at the space in front of him. "That's Thanh Tung's name? Could it be that he made Gia Linh like this?"
"There's no evidence yet. Gia Linh hasn't woken up yet. Just wait and see how things go. Call the police, and you must show up. He didn't want to appear before her right now. Not to mention whether Gia Linh wants to make a big deal or not, we don't know." The man calmly replied.
"Okay! I'll wait for her to wake up." Nam Anh gripped the railing tightly, his face showing anger. The two stood there despite how bright the sun overhead was.
The phone rang. That's The Anh called.
Tut…tut…
"Hello." Nam Anh spoke up.
"Nam Anh, where are you? I'm in front of the hospital lobby. What room is Gia Linh in?" Then he asked.
"You go to VIP room 2696." Nam Anh replied.
"Okay, I'll be right up." After that, he hung up the phone.
Tut…
Nam Anh hung up the phone and looked at the man.
"Then you are here, I will explain to him. You look so worn. Are you okay?"
Nam Anh reached out to grab the opponent's arm, but it seemed that his hand was in pain. She withdrew her hand.
"How's your hand?"
"It's okay, and I'll go down with you." The man coldly replied.
Nam Anh did not linger long. Looking at the man's back, she blinked her eyelids slightly pondered for a while before deciding to leave.
Then Anh was standing in front of the room door, and his worried face kept walking and looking very enthusiastic. Nam Anh walked over, grabbed his hand, and stopped.
"She's fine, don't worry too much!"
"This… this… how did it happen so quickly. We had a good time talking at night, but now she's in there. Hic." So he couldn't hold back his tears and burst into tears. Nam Anh hugged his friend and patted him.
"It's okay, and it's okay. You're a man. Why are you crying?"
Nam Anh said.
"I'm not that." Then he cried.
"Then… then… you came to take care of the sick, not to let me take care of them." Nam Anh said.
"Hic. I'm sorry!" Then he wiped his tears silently.
The two slowly opened the door and entered, sitting on the sofa, looking at Gia Linh.
"Aren't you going to work?" Then he asked softly.
"I let my colleague go instead." Nam Anh lowered his sad eyes and replied.
"What about you, going out of town with the film crew?" Nam Anh wondered.
"I quit my job." Then Anh answered very quickly. Who determined his voice.
"Why quit?" Nam Anh suddenly asked.
"If you can't take a break, then quit! I go to work because of passion, but I stop working once I run out of excitement. I'm not short of money." Then he proudly spoke up.
"It's also good to take a break!" Nam Anh sighed.
Nam Anh and The Anh suddenly fell silent. Both of them turned their eyes to Gia Linh, not knowing that, outside, the mysterious person was still there waiting.
That night no one could sleep. When answering the phone because of work, Nam Anh accidentally overheard the nurse’s conversation.
"Hey, the person in VIP room 2696 is lucky."
"What happens?"
"When she arrived at the emergency room, she had a head injury and was severely anemic. Unfortunately, she has a rare blood type. The hospital's blood store doesn't have that type of blood, and she has to wait to get it back from another hospital. And so how come. Unexpectedly, the man who brought her to the hospital was in that group. So do a test and donate blood for her."
"So, good luck."
"Um."
Nam Anh remembers holding hands at noon. It turned out that he hurt his hand due to a blood transfusion for Gia Linh.
"No wonder the face is so unsightly."
Nam Anh leaned against the wall to think. Unexpectedly, there are still strange people like him in the world. She cares a lot about Gia Linh, but she doesn't want people to know. They still silently stood from afar for many years to protect the enemy.
Nam Anh returned to room 2001. She covered The Anh with a blanket and then walked over to the side of the bed and grabbed Gia Linh's white hand. The space is strangely quiet. Who can hear only the patient's steady breathing and the clock hands are running. Time passed quickly until the next day.
