Alpha Ryder’s POV
I was glad I did not have to say much to them to leave. I did not have the strength to speak to anyone, and that included gossiping maids. I stood by the bed, staring down at my mate’s face.
She looked peaceful in her sleep. She no longer had that angry face of hers. Whatever drugs those men gave to her were so much in her system. Luckily, the doctor knew what to use to calm down the effect, because who knows what would happen if it was not treated?
I shook my head, trying to get all the negative thoughts away. I walked to the reading table and picked up the chair. I positioned it beside the bed and took a seat. For the first thirty minutes of taking a seat, I did nothing but watch her resting face.
