I did not have the time to think. In the blink of an eye, the man who was just above me was no longer in front of me. The last I could feel was his lips on my neck, and then nothing.
How did that happen? One minute I was touching him, and another minute, I was touching no one but the air. I kept my eyes glued to the ceiling, confusion in my eyes. I blinked a couple of times to ensure I was not dreaming.
“Aurora?” I heard Mabel’s voice.
I turned to the side where I heard her voice. She was seated on her bed. I said nothing, just staring at her. But my mind was far from hers. His words and actions lingered in my head, and I could not take them off.
“Aurora” Mabel called again.
“Yes,” I said and sat up, wiping my eyes.
“What happened?” she asked.
“Nothing,” I said.
