“Who is there?” I said again as I held my blanket tight around my body. My body was on fire. My leg ached, and now my heart was racing. Was it a thief? Even if it were, how was I going to defend myself? How did he or she even get past security? Many questions kept flooding my mind as I lept but tiptoed towards my window. It was foolish of me to approach the window without a weapon, so I grabbed the vase on the table nearby quickly, holding it firm in my right hand while my left hand held my blanket that I wrapped around my steaming body, but I was not sweating, just uncomfortable. I got to the window, opened it and swung my hand sideways to immediately hit the intruder, forgetting about my blanket that fell to the floor, forming a cloth puddle around my feet.
